Dr Ayal Segal

Dr. ayal segal did a total knee replacement on me two years ago. That knee developed an infection and had to be removed. It was removed and I was put on intravenous antibiotics for months. You should know that my surgery with this man was a complete disaster. I developed that infection (which he certainly was the cause of) and I was then forced to get revision surgery approx one year after the original surgery. That surgeon told me that the work Dr. Segal did was horrendous and that he left my knee a mess. I am fortunate that I did not lose my leg. You should be further advised that Dr. segal has a total of seven lawsuits filed against him and how he has managed to keep his license is nothing short of amazing. This man should not be operating on any person’s body parts period and yet he does these same surgeries assumedly each and every day. No matter how bad your knees or hips are, my advise is do not go near him !!!

Dr. Segal is a fantastic surgeon and a really nice person.I’ve had 2 total knee replacements and all went well and I can lead a pain free, productive life. THANK YOU,THANK YOU, THANK YOU

Open letter....Dr Segal I wanted to thank you again on what a great job you did on my knee replacement and thought you would like to know this… You did my knee replacement in Jan 2017 and I recovered fine..But in Aug 2019 I joined a gym and so far lost about 35 lbs,but here’s the thing I want to tell you,im lifting with my legs and knee’s 1,000 lbs on the leg press machine 10 times each set…WITH NO PAIN….. what a great job you did ..I have come a long way with your help. Thank you very much. Michael OH..and another thing..Im recovering from cancer in my left arm (2018) and a triple bypass Dec 2017….and Im now 63 years old

Dr Segal is a talented ortho surgeon.. gave a new left knee and a new lease on my declining active life. Surgery was at Syosset Ortho Hospital, a professional, super clean, well staffed and caring experience.

For 18 months prior to my surgery with Dr. Segal, I had been surching for a doctor to replace my severely arthritic hip. I had debilitating pain and was nearly incapable of walking anymore. I had contact with 14 different surgeons, all with excellent credentials, with affiliations from NYU, Lenox Hill Hosp., HSS, and Northwell Health. Each one refused the surgery because of my larger BMI and the assumption that I had other risk factors, without even conducting any tests. Many of them we’re downright nasty. Just when I was at my wits end, another doctor told me to see Dr. Segal. I made an appointment that same day, although I was not expecting any different outcome. From my first step into the office, every member of the staff was welcoming with a big smile with a true sense of caring. Once in the exam room, Dr. Segal’s physician assistant, Andrea, was warm and sympathetic to my plight. When Dr. Segal entered the room, he spoke with me a while, examined me,then looked up at… Andrea and said “we can do this. We’ll do the anterior approach”. That was music to my ears. I almost passed out in shock. I had the surgery and from day 1, I never experienced an ounce of pain. I was up and walking two hours after the surgery. I followed with rehab and continue to improve daily. I thank Dr. Segal from the bottom of my heart, for being the only surgeon willing to restore the quality of my life. He spoke to me like a human being, not just another faceless customer. His knowledge and skill far surpassed my expectations and I am already recommending him to everyone I know. When people ask what doctors I’ve been to, i say I went to the best. When asked who operated, I then say I went to the best of the best. I thank him for not only his brains and his skill, but most of all, for his compassion. God Bless you Dr. Segal.

Dr Segal replaced my fist hip with anterior surgery. I am 67 and was back to work in less than 3 weeks. I shall use him once again and have referred to a friend

I am scheduled for surgery the end of this month. I have the upmost confidence that Dr. Segal can fix my problem. He is very knowledgeable and explained the procedure in great detail. He is kind and compassionate.
