Like another reviewer, he made me feel like I was a medical anomaly for something - non-urological. I was so scared I wrote to the doctor who treated me for it who assured me that it was common. He’s probably a fine urologist - but if you had a similar experience know that it’s happened to others.

DR. Spencer lacks a sense of humanity. I have not felt comfortable or assured when I've had an appointment with him.I will certainly look for another Urologist to look after me

I was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer and after seeing multiple physicians at two different hospitals, I finally found Dr. Spencer. He was wonderful. Smart, thoughtful- and spent more than an hour and a half talking with me and my wife about the diagnosis, the treatment options., and prognosis. I left his office feeling a renewed sense of hope and knew in my heart he was the doctor for me. He follows up frequently and is very detail oriented. I feel that I am in great hands. Couldn't recommend him more highly.

I met with 2 other doctors before making a decision (including one at Sloan). Without question, Dr. Spencer was the best choice. Excellent care.

Do yourself a favor do not go to this doctor. The overall urology dept at Columbia is awful. Sloan is where you go..Period!!

Went to visit Dr. Spencer about a problem I had and he made me feel like i was the only person in the world with this problem. Upon checking on Google i am one of millions with it. I used the wrong word for a diagnosis that i thought i had and he didn't even attempt to figure out what i thought i had. The entire time he made me feel like he just wanted me to go and i ended up leaving the office $50 poorer and not only still having a problem but feeling like i had MORE problems since it was so "uncommon" what I had. He was awful.
