BEWARE!!!!!! This arrogant doctor wants to take advantage of your insurance. I had a minor fall with two injuries. Obtained X-rays and had an appointment with him. We discussed one injury while he displayed his arrogance and weak bedside manner. I questioned him concerning my other X-rays when he stated "oh no, this is a one stop, one shop". I stated your taking advantage of my insurance. He replied "if you don't like it , go to another doctor". I haven't been back since. One visit and done!

I have worked in healthcare my entire life and I chose my Physicians with great care and research. Dr DeMuth is one of the most knowledge physicians I have ever met and has an excellent staff to support him. I read some of the reviews and noticed complaints that are insurance related and issues that are patient related. There was even a complaint that the Doctor was not knife happy like it was years ago (Really). Going for therapy or following exercise instructions instead of surgery is always the right course of treatment before the scalpel. My insurance would not let me have surgery if a less aggressive treatment was not prescribed first (don’t hate the player, hate the game). I had a very successful partial right knee replacement. Dr. Demuth made sure I got the most out of my knee before being replaced. He is a straight shooter, and sorry folks there’s not a pill for everything. Sometimes the patient has to do most of the work to get better. On occasion you might have to wait to see… him. He might be on call for a hospital. Consider yourself lucky that it wasn’t you in the accident. If it was who would you want him to see first? As far as his bedside manner he has always been caring and compassionate. Remember you are going to a highly trained and skillful surgeon that has dedicated his life to his craft. Try not to confuse being professional with arrogance (If you want a friend get a dog). If you want an accurate diagnosis, this is who I go to. Do yourself a favor and make a list of questions you want to ask your Physician so you can get the most out of your visit.

I was not impressed with bedside matter. Think twice - not only because of bedside matter, but because there is a special code that is used to charge the insurance company for surgery, on your first visit for fractures, that leaves you with a $110 bill - payable to Demuth, whether or not you continue treatment after the first visit. At no time was I informed I would be paying $110 plus co-pay ($150 total) for a 15 minute, initial visit, especially when money is tight with COVID19. I paid the $110 because collections was involved, and it would cost more than $110 to get an attorney. *Now I know why health insurance is so high. * I regret 100%+ going to see Demuth for many reasons.

Warning!!! Went to see Demuth for shoulder and hip pain after a fall. He was very arrogant and briefly discussed some exercises for my shoulder. I questioned concerning my hip when he stated "Oh no, this is a one stop, one shop". I stated "your taking advantage of my insurance" when he walked out of the room stating "you can always go see another doctor". I believe this is a form of insurance fraud and causes additional copays for patients. Very arrogant and unprofessional.

I saw Dr. Demuth in 2013. I had sprained my ankle missing a step after an 8 mile training run, training for the Hershey half-marathon. He had me in tears. I am a grown woman whose ankle wasn't healing right. The swelling hadn't subsided, but it stayed thick way too long. He shamed me. I came to him for help. His own nursing staff put him in a room with me alone, to basically give him a piece of my mind. The appropriate thing to have done with me, would be direct me to a physical therapist. Which the next doctor did, and I resumed running. Because I was not a candidate for surgery, he was hostile. What is wrong with a doctor who is angry with a patient coming to them for help? I followed his instructions, nothing changed, only to be dealt with in hostility. He never apologized, but got the picture of what he did wrong with me. I will not go there or recommend any one see this doctor.

All he wants to do is give injections

Dr. Demuth was very caring and thoughtful with my fracture. He listened and answered all my questions; and seemed very genuine. I am happy to be healthy and back to normal with his guidance and knowledge. I would highly recommend him to others in need of an orthopedic doctor.
