Dr. Brian Scott Hollensworth, MD

He has a " Blah" personality ". Monotone to say the least. Had I known this prior to my 1st appointment I would have looked for another neurologist.

I honestly thought that Dr. Hollensworth was going to be the Dr to help me because he seemed like he cared about my case. I have a lot going on with me and a lot has happened since he last saw me. Long story short, I've had Medicaid for months now because I got sick and I'm no longer able to work. Well, originally I was told that Dr. Hollensworth agreed that he would accept it, even though they normally don't- I'm assuming because of my case. I go there today just to be told it was not going to be accepted anymore. Every time since he agreed to accept it, I would have to go through a rollercoaster before I was seen. I would always be told I need a referral. When I called my primary Dr office (which is in the same goup) the nurse would get the referral done but once I get to Dr. Hollensworth office, they never had it. I would hear the front desk girl laughing and making jokes in the back when they are off "checking" with the nurse or office staff concerning the issue. They obviously… thought they were talking low and I couldn't hear them, but I did. I think it is VERY unprofessional for an office to treat me as if I'm someone off the streets looking for a handout just because I have Medicaid is wrong!! When I had BCBS I was NEVER treated this way. There was NEVER an issue but I'm the same person but with a different insurance and now I'm not worthy to see the Dr!! I was told to go to a nearby clinic because they are not expensive!! I was in SEVERE pain today which is why I came to the Dr in the first place and I feel I was treated as if I was an addict seeking drugs (not trying to be offensive). I should've been told this upfront than wait until I get to the appointment and embarrass me in front of other people. The girl said she had been looking at my file before I came. Why not make a call and spare me the drama? I really don't normally write reviews unless it is something exceptional happens or terrible. My experience with this office from the front staff to the nurses have been awful. His nurses are not that friendly, especially the main two that return your calls and Dr. Hollensworth is like most doctors. No real emotion and straight to the point. Nothing wrong with that if that's just his personality. I actually liked that about him. He was thorough and to the point. I don't know if he really cared but I'll just say that he wasn't the worst Dr in the world. I don't per say have a problem with him but his staff from the front desk to his nurses are just horrible and unprofessional. I've never been on Medicaid in my life until now but I see why there is a problem with people not receiving proper care in America. This office is the prime example of what systematic treatment people receive if they are not considered "high" in society. There are a lot of people out there that just need people to care and have compassion. Being treated anything less and you are supposed to be in a business of helping people is shameful. Why some of these Dr offices think that taking Medicaid patients will ruin there reputation is crazy to me!! I'm no less than anyone else. When Jesus returns, so many people will have to give an account for their actions. I hope if this is read, someone's heart will change and they have a LONG talk with the staff members and explain how to conduct themselves appropriately in this type of setting. I'm a follower of Jesus Christ so I forgive these people because I know where it all comes from but I just hope this does not happen to anyone else because it's not a good feeling and my heart goes out to all the Americans and people across the world who experience this everyday. I will continue to pray for change in the world.

Without empathy, concern or the desire to provide high quality care to his patients...and I don't mean dispensing medication. Even more disturbing, if your insurance carrier happens to be Medicare, you're screwed; does not want to spend the time to understand your health issues. Stay away from this practice!

My wife’s Dr retired that she has seen for 14 years was referred by her MD who is excellent Dr Hollensworth listen about her medication and told her to call when she needed a refill appt lasted about 6 min maybe now he doesn’t write medication which is for Tardive Dyskinesia I have tried to call for 2 weeks he could have said at appt that he does not write the medication at time of appt and you don’t stop medication cold turkey

My experience with Dr Hollensworth was in the beginning of his practice. My husband was having problems and was referred to Dr. Hollensworth . My husbands condition continued to deteriorate very rapidly in just a few months. We lost him to a very aggressive brain cancer. Dr Hollensworth was his Dr. for about 7 months. Even though many diagnostic test and procedures were done, due to other health problems some of the more conclusive diagnostics were out of the question. During these few months, many office visits, many test, therapy, etc. there was NOT A TIME that Dr. Hollensworth was not personally available whether it be in his office or by phone. He always took the time to sit with us and answer our questions, to thoroughly explain things to us in a way that was easy to understand. When we ended up in the ER with my husband, even though Dr. Hollensworth could not leave his office at that time, he was personally handling all of his care and would call me on the phone with… updates throughout the day until he could get there. That meant a lot to me and my family. Dr. Hollensworth has his heart in it , you are a person to him and not just a chart. This is why he will be our Neurologist and I have and will continue to recommend him to anyone who asks.

This picture of him looks like a DUI mug shot, which may be most appropriate. He has a nice new permanent now and it makes him swagger. When he first told me that I had multiple sclerosis he actually giggled.... the man has no bedside manner. I guess he chose his profession after Googling 'high paying doctor jobs'. I told him I was morbidly depressed and had recently had two seizures. Well, he proscribed Primodone which has a side effect of depression - so I threw them away. Well, thanks, Doc... I am doubly depressed and I guess I have no doctor right now and must research more.

This is a physician that does not want to include the patient in the care plan, he is has no interest in listening or spending time with the patient. Seems to be in a hurry to exit the exam room, makes a snap judgement/decision with a benign diagnosis with no physical exam or complete medical history. Cannot recommend his services. The office staff is slow and not helpful.

after seeing several other neurologists who just offered medicines for my headaches, Dr. Hollensworth found the problem and I am now headache-free--without medication!!

I have been to many different neurologists, either with my husband, for myself, or with my parents, and most of them have not been very attentive and somewhat strange. Dr. Hollensworth is the first one I went to that actually listened and acted like he wanted to find out what was wrong. He has a very quiet demeanor and listens when you talk. I would recommend him.
