Dr. Hayden Countryman Long, MD

I have had great success with my issues with Dr. Long. He is always efficient and personable. I think he thinks quickly - at first I wasnt sure he was being that thorough, but after a couple of visits he always knew what I had previously told him and I was doing far better than I had in years with my 2 previous neurologists. Highly recommend! He has a good attitude and sense of humor.

My first appt there went fairly well. My second one yesterday, not at all. But I'm a sufferer of migraines and headaches caused by other issues. After basically informing me there wasn't much could be done for some of the symptoms, I obviously am going to feel and look discouraged, still being in pain. As I'm asking him another question about my headaches, he cuts me off and yells at me about how hes about to answer and how I should just let him do his job. And nothings gonna change overnight. I was so confused, but I stayed calm. Its like he just snapped and got upset because I was unhappy. He has some kind of complex and is easily disturbed.I was very taken back and offended. He put on paper for me to come back in 4 weeks. Get this: Nurse searched for dates in and he"ll be on vacation then. I shook my head and told her not to even worry about it and walked away. Will not be returning to him.

Dr. Hayden Long has been my neurologist for a few years. He is the doctor who found I had a blockage in my carotid artery. He has kept up with it, with ultrasound. After my last ultrasound, his office called and he said I needed to see a vascular doctor. I did just that. I was in surgery about a week later. I was close to having a stroke or worse! He is an excellent doctor. He listens. He is so kind. I recommend him highly to anyone. I will be forever grateful for him! He saved my life!

I have started seeing Dr. Long after my other neurologist retired. I wish I had found him sooner! He has helped me more in a few visits than my other neurologist helped in years and years! Kind and has been very compassionate, and truly interested in getting me better. I am going to change my primary doctor to one of the internists at his practice at Alabama Medical Group. Efficient experience with their whole office!

Was ok till I mentioned I read reviews regarding others experience , I truly read reviews on everything, expensive items I purchase, doctors etc. He said he wouldn’t pick a doctor based on what people write on the Internet ! His nostrils Flared & he told me he heard my concerns & he wasn’t the doctor I need to see for my concerns. Again he brought up Internet reviews he’s rude & wanted to over power me with having me listen to him rattle on about nothing ! When I’d talk he would interrupt me, yet I had to humble down like a puppy to him. I was respectful even though I was very hurt my his actions, I couldn’t wait to leave ! Honestly he can’t stand the fact that we the patients now have a platform (Internet) to let others know what our experiences are like with them. He let what I said about reviews control my visit with him !

I have suffered with migraines for years. It was not uncommon for me to have 4-5 per week. I started seeing Dr. Long about a year ago. He worked with me trying several different medicines and dosages until we found one that worked. I am happy to say that I rarely have a migraine; fewer than 1 a month. Dr. Long is an excellent physician who takes the time to really listen to his patients and work with them to find a solution.
