Dr. Bruce Howard Kaplan, MD

I have read the reviews citing prolonged waits but did you consider the time needed for medications to take effect or the time he spends in examination? We have been patients since Dr. Kaplan entered practice in Park Ridge. He has monitored me knowing my family history of glaucoma and has taken steps to help prevent the disease in me. More importantly he noticed a cholesterol embolism in my husband's eye and followed up with carotid sonograms. That led to a carotid endarterectomy. At the time it seemed all I noticed were men in our age group (50s-60s) who had had a stroke. There but for the grace of God..... He has earned our trust and respect.

He was so through in his examination and you knew he was an excellent doctor and friendly besides.

He is noted as a good doctor, would like him to be on time just ONCE and not let us wait 2 to 4 hrs. every time. Also, he needs to talk and explain our condition to us so we know what is going on w/ our eyes...since the charges reflect that something must have been done. Plse. don't keep us waiting so long and talk to us, w/ eye contact and not w/ back. Thanks.

Let us not wait 2 to 4 hrs. per visit...that is for everyone who tells me as I am waiting for my turn.

Dr Bruce Kaplan is the BEST. I have been seeing him for 14 years--he is excellent ++ as a doc. Im told he has studeed with the best glaucoma specialists . He is extremely thorough. Even has we moved farther from his office ==it is definately worth the drive to have him as a doc!!

It takes over six months to get an appointment. Sees me two times per year but tells me everything is fine with my eyes. Gives lots of tests that seem redundant and unnecessary. From the time I arrive to the time I leave about 3 hours pass. Office staff are not flexible if you need to reschedule an appointment. Must wait months to reschedule.
