Dr. Bryan Talmadge Kelly

Dr. Kelly operated on me as a 26 year old. After experiencing set backs, he brushed off my concerns and didn't take anything I said seriously. He has an extremely large ego and is extremely condescending. When I finally got second opinions demonstrating that I developed total arthritis in my hip due to Dr. Kelly's surgery, he became extremely defensive and then magically his medical notes changed to state that he informed me I had wear prior to surgery. This is contradicted by his own notes during surgery where he indicates no sign of cartilage wear. I have been pushed around from Dr. to Dr. at HSS since this injury and have been forced to spend over $100K out of pocket to try to fix the issues caused by Dr. Kelly. It's a travesty to our medical system that a man that only cares about his pocket is deemed a "leader" of this institution - that tells you just about everything you need to know about HSS - greed, greed and more greed. If you care about your health, stay far away.

I had FAI surgery on both hips within 5 years. Before having my first hip done, I consulted with a NHL doctor who recommended Dr. Kelly. I then asked a friend of mine in NYC (who is chiropractor) if he’d ask around. Everyone said he was the man to fix the issue. There is a reason why athletes, celebrities, and people fly from all over the country to see him.

Dr. Kelly is simply the best doctor I’ve ever encountered. Obviously his surgical skills are amazing, but I was shocked at how compassionate he and his team are. He repaired my hips, but it turned out that was only part of my problems. Many surgeons might have pawned me off because I also needed the services of another hip specialist, but not Dr. Kelly. He continued to care for me and when it came time for additional surgery, he consulted with the other surgeon, helped me decide and continued his own aftercare until my hips were completely pain free.

I am horrified to see even a single negative review here... Dr. Kelly is a terrific human being, extremely humble, intelligent, and a true professional. Outstanding bedside manner. His entire team are caring and professional. The wisest needs the best, like Dr. Kelly!!!

Wouldn’t know what kind of surgeon he is or what he even looked like, since he flew in and out of the room for $400/cash! He kept saying to address our questions to the physician who had sent us to him. Really indifferent to my child’s suffering.

Not at all impressed. His reputation does not meet my expectations. Unprofessional from the start. Good diagnostician but nasty and unprofessional. Be prepared to wait hours. So many other more caring and talented hip docs in NYC and beyond. His staff is nasty and curt.

My experience was the most amazing experience I have had with an orthopedic surgeon. He is truly amazing, very professional and has an extensive team. I will definitely continue my care with Dr. Kelly.
