Dr. Bryan Douglas Strickland, MD

I had to choose one star in order to leave a review, but if I could choose negative stars, I would. My husband has been seeing Dr. Strickland and his NP for years. He has been to them twice in the last two months for a cough. Since he had Covid in 2020, we thought maybe it was a residual cough from that, but it was getting worse. Not once in the two visits did Dr. Strickland or his NP listen to my husbands lungs or order a chest xray. Once he became short of breath, I strongly suggested that he see my doctor, which he did. He had blood work ordered, which showed an infection and also had a chest xray done that showed a total right lung pleural effusion. He was sent to the ER and a CAT scan was performed which not only showed the pleural effusion, but also showed two masses in the right lung. Now had Dr. Strickland and his NP done their job and had been more thorough, this would have been caught alot sooner. Now we are having to go to the Cancer Center to make sure this is not a… malignancy, and he will need the fluid drained from his lung. What happened to the oath Dr.'s have to take? First do no harm...well, Dr. Strickland, you have done harm to my husband by not doing your job.

The review posted before this one regarding Dr Strickland addressing my immediate health issues with interest, knowledge & concern...was my review however I accidentally hit a 1 star when I meant it to be a 5 star rating.

Dr Strickland addressed my health issues & overall health with great interest, knowledge, & concern. I was very grateful that he allowed me to be fit into his very busy schedule at a days notice to address my immediate health issue. He spent time explaining things & proceeded to do a thorough exam. I left feeling very fortunate that he is my Dr.

Dr. Strickland is a caring, competent physician who takes the time to listen and genuinely seems to care. So happy to have him taking care of me!

Great caring personality, answers your questions . During your appointment he never seems rushed to get to his next patient, he has time for you. Being an old RN I am so pleased to find this in the younger doctors, of course they are all not like this, Never were and never will be. I feel fortunate that Dr. Lambert transferred me to Dr. Strickland. I'm a happy ole gal. Thank you. Jane Stambaugh

One of few available doctors in the area for older patients. He uses the latest studies to guide his care plan. Over emphasizes the need to be a vegan to solve one's medical problems. But, feel he believes that it will solve most of one's ills. He lives what he preaches. Hard to see, except with long standing appointments. Cannot call and discuss any issues, must make appointment. Staff is mediocre at best. Always follow up on appointments, pharmacy assignments, etc. due to staff errors. Dr. Strickland is a superior doctor, but the latest "business" requirements of a doctor have damaged his practice. Yes to recommendation, but don't expect "old style" relationship of doctor to patient.

Went to Dr. Strickland for about 20 years. Stopped using him when he told me my issues were due to the aging process. Two months later I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, had extensive surgery followed by chemo. I do not recommend him at all.

I feel fortunate to have my health care in the hands of such a capable physician. Dr. Strickland's approach to medicine is very scientific; he often cites the most recent studies that have been done in the area about which I have questions or seek advice. Furthermore, he is a good listener---something that cannot be said for the medical profession in general (in my opinion). If you are Dr. Strickland's patient, you both work together to treat the specific ailment you may have and to improve your overall health. Dr. Strickland has my strongest recommendation.

Never seems to be able to diagnose something accurately.

I have been a patient of Dr. Strickland for approx 4 years. I have never meet a more caring doctor. One of his many strong points is he listen. Being a paraplegic for many years, I would say his knowledge, ability to listen and caring put him in the top. Also, his staff is excellent. I recommend him to anyone.
