Dr. Carroll Gilbert Odem, MD

I had a great experience visiting DR. Odem always was very nice and listen patiently my comments, DR, Odem order the analysis I needed, and send me to the pharmacy for the medicine as well or refer me to visit a specialist when he consideted it necesary.

Dr Odom does not work at Abbycare any more. They do not care. Beware!

On my 4th visit only seeing Dr. Odem once I was told my service dog had barkef( one time) when a lady with a loud video phone approached us and startled my dog. They already been very negative about have my animal there and of course zdr. Odem was not able to talk with call me or answer email. I suffer from PTSD and severe panic and anxiety disorder and my dog is train to keep watch over people approaching me. Unannounced..seems a good Dr. Would know the seriousness of this disease and not allow his staff to talk rude and refuse my business..I would never use a dr. that cares so little for his patients well being

I saw Dr. Alan Odem in his office several times after a car accident. My left knee was hurt with a suspected Meniscus tear. After seeing him for almost one year and going through many sessions of therapy and an MRI. I saw another doctor. When the doctor looked at my records it stated "meniscus tear". What was Dr. Odem waiting on. Collecting more money I guess. Anyway, my surgery was only supposed to last a couple of hours but lasted 4.5 hours because more repair had to be made. I was so very disappointed and it was a long recovery time for me. I would NEVER recommend anyone to Dr. Alan Odem. Too bad you have to give him 1 star.

I am a doctor and the patient was my 80 year old father who is a doctor. We went to Parkridge Hospital through the ER. We have been here 24 hours and have not seen a doctor. My father has been being treated by the nurses according to orders from a doctor that has NEVER examined the patient nor come to see him. I, along with the nurses have basically done all his treatment. The nurses have been great. They called Dr. Odom explaining that I would like my father actually seen by him, and he refused to come see him. I know in my practice, I don't treat patients without actually examining them and truly understand their needs. This has been the poorest excuse for care that I have really ever witnessed. The nurses hands are tied. As a fellow medical professional, this doctor should lose his license. Practicing medicine without examining the patient is sad at best. I would rank him less than 1 if possible.

My father seen Dr. Odem for several issues and was in desperate need of a wheelchair & ramp for the house due to cancer in his spine and other issues. The doctor said he would send in the authorizations to the VA right away. Well here we are over a month later and we are still waiting on his incompetent office staff to fill out the paperwork and send it in to the VA. My father can't even walk & is using my wheelchair to get around the house causing us huge mobility issues! I would not recommend this doctor due to his incompetent office staff that handles everything after you have seen the doctor. Took me 2 weeks of calling them just to get a prescription refill sent to the pharmacy, what a joke for a doctors office! They should be ashamed to call themselves a doctors office!

Dr. Odem used to be a great dr. But he has changed and he just doesn't seem to care anymore. His staff is hateful, the wait is ridiculous and then when I finally see him he falls asleep while I'm telling him what I'm there for! I also looked up whether he is board certified and he's not - at least not in internal medicine. I don't know what has happened to him but he's not the same doc he was a few years ago - but that could be overlooked. It is his hateful staff that made me look for another doctor.

The wait time is awful. I have had to wait up to three hours to see the doctor. This has happened more times than I can count, But if you want to see a wonderful doctor Dr. Carol Odom is the one to see. He is very caring, very knowledgeable, listens well, and very good with diagnosis.
