I have been in treatment with Dr. Charles Jaffe for 5 years. The reviews I've read here are not recognizable to me. I started working with him during a very rough (post hospitalization) time in my life. He has always consistently professional, having excellent boundaries, as well as, a strong intellect and impressive and effective clinical skills. All these traits combined with insightful wisdom and razor sharp diagnostic skills, have been the foundation of a treatment which heals. I am able to make this review and recommendation honestly as I myself am a clinician and educator. I am sorry others have been unhappy in their treatment with Dr. Jaffe, and what I have written above is not a repudiation of their experience.

I too could not believe the review that said Dr. Jaffee slept through therapy sessions. ... but it is certainly true! Find another doctor!!!!!

I couldn't believe the few reviews I read that claimed a psychiatrist actually slept through their sessions.. He most certainly did. He dozed constantly. If he is that bored, he should be able to fake it for the amount of money he charges per session. Time for him to retire.

Generally Dr. Jaffe was inconsiderate, tended to fall asleep during session and could be very patronizing.
