Charles T. Mehlman

Dr. Mehlman is incredible. He has been my orthopedic for over 20 years now. He has operated on me many times and is always trying to give me the least invasive options. He truly cares about his patients. He may move quickly but it is because he sees a lot of patients and stays busy. He will answer questions if you have them and is great with post-op

We loved Doctor Mehlman. This is the second time he has had to work on my son. He was very down to earth and easy to talk to and understand. He did a great job explaining what was going on I felt that my son was in great hands for his surgery. He has been put under twice now under the care of Dr Mehlman and I would definitely recommend him to anyone. He also spent plenty of time with my son talking to him about his plan of care and making sure that he understood as well. Hopefully we never need to go back but if we do I would hope that we would get him again.

Horrible bed side manner. Yelled at residents in front of us. Yelled at nurses in front of us. Told me that he thinks we see too many doctors even though we were referred to him by the PCP and have not seen any other physicians. Horrible excuse for patient care. People are more than patients. Treat us like it.

His bedside manner is very abrasive. Does not spend enough time with the patient to make an accurate diagnosis. Had my daughter in tears telling her her condition was her fault because she was "fat and lazy". No teenager at 13 needs to hear that kind of negative feedback, especially when she is already struggling with self-esteem and learning disability issues already. If he had taken more than 3 minutes to look at her file or talk to her he would have known this. My daughter was near hysteria by the time we left his office. Needless to say we had to seek help from someone not associated with Children's Hospital thanks to Dr. Mehlman. We also waited over an hour for our scheduled appointment time. Would never go back to him or recommend him to anyone.
