Dr. Silvera obtained his B.A. from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1977. He received his medical degree in 1982 from Meharry College in Nashville, Tennessee where he graduated with honors. He received the Human Physiology Award and was awarded membership in the AOA Honor Medical Society. Dr. Silvera completed his Residency in Internal Medicine as well as a Fellowship in Gastroenterology at Beth Israel Medical Center.A Brooklyn native, Dr. Silvera currently resides there with his wife and family. He practices both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at Horizon Medical Group.

I saw Dr. Charles Silvera for the first time a week ago and appreciate his straight talk about the procedure I was inquiring about. He explained the pros and cons of different tests which was helpful in forming my decision. His staff is attentive and friendly.

Dr. Charles Silvera is an outstanding physician with exceptional experience and knowledge. I have been his patient for many years and feel truly grateful to be under his care. His professionalism, patience, compassion, and understanding are remarkable. I had a routine colonoscopy. With every part of the experience with Dr. Silvera and his team I felt totally comfortable and in good hands. His office returned calls quickly, and provided helpful information, but the Weill Cornell screening process of transferring you to a main call center first and resulting in a callback is a little cumbersome. Also double inputting all of your patient info at the endo center is duplicative, but that’s not Dr. Silvera’s fault. Highly recommend!
