Dr. Christine Caridad Marrero, DO

My experience with Dr. Christine Caridad Marrero was terrifying and left me in tears! After I had finished my physical exam, I sat in my car for an hour in a cold sweat, and am pretty sure I had a panic attack. I went to see her for a physical, and the assistant noted that I had a slow pulse. The doctor ordered that an EKG be done out of concern. I let her know that it’s genetic and that doctors have told me that my whole life, nothing to be concerned about. Her response was your EKG/pulse is “crazy” and then proceeded to tell me I “could die in my sleep.” I never had a doctor talk to me like this, especially when it involves my life. Without going into much detail on another issue, she then told me I “needed surgery” for something else. In my view the correct response is, I’m going to refer you to a specialist , not hey new patient “you need surgery.” She’s in primary care and in no position to make a final diagnosis on that particular issue. After all of this I was shaken and… unnerved. Afterwards I received a flu shot from an assistant and she was kind and I didn’t feel a thing. The receptionist was also kind and provided great customer service. A few people have given her high marks and maybe deservedly so, but that was not my experience. I will never go back to that doctor again. Baptist let me down.
