Dr. Christopher D Hargett, DO

Dr. Hargett is a wonderful surgeon who gave me my life back! My lower spine was totally jacked up. I was in constant pain and even with opiates I could hardly walk. Most of my time was spent in bed and I had almost given up. Luckily I got hooked up with Dr. Hargett who fused my spine in two places, did a laminectomy, reamed out several places so the nerves would not be pinched, stitched up a nerve that was being worn into, and other feats of magic too numerous to mention. Long story short, I am doing great and if you have a spine problem you need this guy to fix you!

Christopher Hargett was suppose to give me some relief from spinal stenosis. He didn’t. I’m in worse shape now than I was bf my surgery. Now, I’ve got to have a second and possibly a third surgery bc Christopher Hargett does not know what he is doing. He is out of his league and is not a medical doctor and Isn’t certified by a board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Do your homework and learn about your doctors abilities before the knife and not after the knife. It could save you physical and psychological torments.

I was a patient of this doctor about 1 1/2 years ago. I went to my initial consult. He took up a lot of time with me during that initial visit. He listened and did a work up on me. I had a MRI and it showed that I had L4, L5 and S1 bulging discs. He explained to me what he could do to correct this problem. I did a lot of research on the surgery before agreeing to have it. I had a micro discectomy. Felt good for about 4 weeks. He seemed to care up until after my surgery. I needed PT and he said that PT wouldn't help me. I am a nurse and I knew PT is what I needed because of what I do. 5 weeks post op I re herniated in the same area he had just done surgery on. His reply to me was that I wouldn't benefit from physical therapy, so he sent me to pain management. That didn't benefit me either. The PM doctor even asked me why hadn't I been to physical therapy, my reply was that my surgeon wouldn't send me. Fast forward a year later, Hughston Clinic has to fix the damage already done to my… back prior to my first surgery and fix Dr Hargett's mess up. Hughston Clinic has some of the best back surgeons in the U.S. Many of my family and friends begged me not to have surgery in Dothan and I didn't listen. People be careful in choosing a doctor of any kind. I have NO respect for any doctor who doesn't listen to his patients.

Dr Hargett seemed "concerned" until after my surgery. I asked for physical therapy and he would not send me. I work 12 hour shifts. I do a lot of transfers and pulling at my job. After my surgery, i saw him about 3-5 times before he dismissed me to another doctor. My surgery failed. I am in more pain now than before my surgery. People please do your research on this doctor. Once he was paid, he wasn't "concerned" anymore. I will never let him touch me or anyone I know.
