Dr. Christopher T R Parker, DO

I was referred to Dr. Parker by my nephrologist, Dr. Hines, as I was having severe pain in one of my feet. Dr. Hines told me that I would love Dr. Parker as he is such a nice, upbeat, enthusiastic and brilliant doctor. Dr. Hines was right. Dr. Hines diagnosed my problem as gout. I was in terrible pain and Dr. Parker cured me as soon as he saw my labs. I highly recommend Dr. Parker. He is terrific, 5 stars all the way. I am retired periodontist with a lot of medical training and many medical problems caused by an autoimmune disease that required a liver transplant. I have many different physicians all of whom are excellent. Most are in Austin , but some are at the Rochester Mayo Clinic and MD Anderson. I am extremely picky about my doctors and feel very fortunate to have Dr. Parker as one of them.

I did a lot of research to find the right rheumatologist for my elderly father and used to accompany my elderly father to appointments with Dr Parker. He was impatient with my father, indifferent to his multiple medical issues besides the rheumatic disease for which my father was seeing Dr Parker, and often got irritated when asked to re-explain something. Would not recommend Dr Parker.

He provided a detailed and clear explanation of my condition. Also offered a few options for treatment and further prevention.

Dr. Parker does not focus on the patient but on his personal issues. I’ve switched and receiving comprehensive care.

A JERK

I've gone to Dr. Parker for years, have never felt rushed and appreciate the time he spends discussing and addressing my health issues. I recommend him to anyone who mentions they need a rheumatologist.

My overall experience with Dr. Parker has been one of having a caring, respectful, and professional relationship. He is intelligent and a very good listener. My previous Rheumatologist was also very good, but not as up-to-date as Dr. Parker. I highly recommend Dr. Parker to anyone and everyone suffering from arthritis or any related disease.

I have only good things to say about Dr. Parker. After spending a year and all my money on Rheumatologists to help me, Dr. Parker was a miracle after I, myself, had given up. After seeing me for the first time, after talking with other doctors, and checking out my blood tests, he was able to diagnose me with a rare (1/100K)autoimmune arthritis disease. He called me on a Saturday (a doctor? unheard of!) to give me the diagnosis and get me started on treatment. He treats the whole patient, looking at all issues involved in an illness, not just the disease itself (mental, physical, lifestyle, etc.). He is always working on fine tuning my meds to get the greatest benefit from them. He doesn't over medicate but wants you to be comfortable to have the most positive life possible. He was not judgmental towards me when most other doctors were (due to a hard to test for/diagnose disease) and I feel he really listens to the patient to answer all questions and offer the best outlook for… their life. He works as your partner in achieving the best health results and not as a dictator. Without him, I would still be taking penicillin and steroids and slowly becoming disfigured for life. That is where my last doctor left me. I owe everything to Dr. Parker and would recommend him to anyone but specifically to those with Adult Onset Still's Disease.
