Dr. Chunyang Tracy Wang, MD

I would rate 0 if it were an option. Do yourself a favor and avoid her at all costs. Honestly not even sure how she is a doctor. Thought she was late because she was reviewing the chart or patient notes but nope - she didn’t review a thing even after a hospital visit and was unprepared. She was extremely rude and clearly didn’t know what she was talking about. Steer clear.

I wish I would have read these reviews before my appointment with Dr. Wang because I had the exact same experience. She couldn’t even remember if we had met in person or on a telephone appointment, she had no idea what my chart said, and had not even reviewed my recent mri results or go over them with me when I asked, she just said it was “normal”. She asked me the same questions she had before & even repeated questions that she had just asked that day. She did not listen well, she seemed very uncaring, and she did not explain things well at all. I am having neuropathy on both sides of my body, she only tested one side. When I asked why, she said bc I wouldn’t be able to walk, I can walk fine. When I asked about side effects, she said “not really”. At the end, she said, “normal results, no ‘significant’ nerve damage” what does that mean? I don’t know because she didn’t explain anything. I am very discouraged and will definitely be looking for a different doctor. I also have had… horrible experience with getting through to make an appointment or get information. She didn’t put in blood test orders either. Please don’t waste your time or your money!

She does not seem interested, forgets what is wrong with you (read the chart doctor!) Always late. once over an hour. They left me sitting in a cold room. Staff seem like they have had no trainin and more interested in gossiping. Avoid!

Dr Tracy Wang is an excellent provider of epileptic patients. She never gives up on them, she's patient she's kind she's loyal and no matter what she guides them in the right direction that is beneficial to their health! I wish that she was still in New Jersey ! I miss you Dr Tracy Wang!!

Dr Wang doesn't bother to take a minute to look over your chart before your office visit. I don't expect her to remember every face she meets at the hospital, but when I come to her office, I do expect her to know my gender, my background, the drugs that she prescribed for me, and I don't expect to have to give another complete run through of the episode that brought me here in the first place. My pharmacy refused to send me my prescription because they claimed that the good Dr. never returned their calls to verify the script. I initially thought the pharmacy was lying- now I'm not so sure. She gives very generic advice, that frankly I could give. Basically, avoid anything that could cause a seisure. Well, just about everything in life could trigger a seizure, so I think I will ignore that advice. Should I stay away from a halloween party because there may be a flashing light, or it is at night, or you might stay up too late ? No. I could give tons of examples of ridiculous… advice she gave but I won't bore you with it. Maybe I should sign up to take her job to give her a little more R&R, she definitely could use a break. Her PA Stephanie, on the other hand, is very much on top of her game. She is very bright and I wish she was my Dr.

She and her staff are not competent. My daughter was given important wrong info. Sometimes she runs hours behind the appointment time. Won’t return calls.

Dr. Wang wanted to put me on strong medication, potentially for the rest of my life, with no concrete evidence that I needed it. Not only was medication her first and only recommendation, Dr. Wang asked me to choose both the medication (I was given 2 options) and the lab work (I was given 3 options) with no recommendation or guidance from her medical perspective. While WebMD is a valuable resource that I use to prepare myself for meetings with doctors, Dr. Wang provided zero additional information/ insight/ expertise. I believe a doctor, especially a specialist, should provide a level of patient care that is out of reach of WebMD. Dr. Wang was also in a hurry, over an hour late for my appointment, and rude and short when answering my questions. Even more alarming, when meeting with another specialist she referred me to, I discovered that Dr. Wang's notes were blatantly wrong and added a number of symptoms that I never experienced, proving that Dr. Wang didn't take care to listen to my… specific case. North County Neurologists also has an extremely long waiting period to be seen by a doctor (over six weeks, I've since found other practices have only a 2-week wait), and does not review files marked urgent by primary or emergency care physicians. I was schedule to fly one week following my medical episode, and asked that a Neurologist review my file for the "ok" to fly before I left on vacation. After over 3 hours on the phone attempting to get in touch with ANY office staff to help me (North County Neurologists uses an answering service, so patients have NO access to doctors/nurses/PAs/etc.), I was told my file would be reviewed (I never heard anything, so left on my trip). Six weeks later at my appointment, Dr. Wang was alarmed that I traveled via airplane, stating that "I should have never flown given my symptoms". I consider that the fault of North County Neurology, who blatantly ignored the "urgent" mark on my file. My symptoms and episode were very scary, compounded now by a traumatic experience with Dr. Wang. I strongly urge you to refrain from working with Dr. Wang or North County Neurologists. It's worth the drive to another practice to be seen by doctors who are deeply invested in patient care.

I'm 58 yr woman with Gentamycin induced neuropathy. My first visit to Dr. Wang was routine review of my neuropathy symptoms, treatment history, then referrals for further testing, blood panels, and other diagnostic tools, with follow up appointment made to discuss results. Subsequent attempts to contact her office usually involved being on hold for 15 to 40 minutes! Attempts to get information took multiple calls. Even my treatment provider's office could not get through with their questions. My second visit was as though the first visit had never happened. She asked all the same questions and obviously had no recollection or notes on the tests she had already recommended and discussed them again, along with recommending drugs I had already declined to consider. I had to go back for blood tests and procedures that her office failed to order. To be sure there were no further miscommunications, I had to insist the blood tests orders be faxed directly to the service provider because… her office didn't know how. She did refer me to a great vascular surgeon, Dr. Anatoly Burkin, who was quite surprised that no one had recommended vitamin B shots, and to my surprise they seem to have helped! Dr. Wang was concerned enough about my weariness with debilitating pain to persuade me to try yet another drug, and she warned my insurance provider I might be a suicide risk. But she was not concerned enough to return any of my five calls when I had a serious reaction to the drug she prescribed! It took days of leaving urgent messages with her office to even get a call back from her assistant! He said to discontinue the drug (duh) and again I was promised Dr. Wang would call me with further instructions. She NEVER did. Nor have I received any calls about test results. I'm done.
