Dr. Colleen Anne Joseph, MD

Following cataract surgery, Dr. Joseph prescribed glasses for me that had a kaleidoscopic effect on my vision, making it nearly impossible for me to see adequately. She re-examined me and prescribed different lenses for my glasses. Then she had the gall to insist that I pay the nominal charge for the replacements. In essence, she refused to own her mistake. Both in terms of skill and business practice, I would advise people to avoid Dr. Joseph.

Dr. Joseph is an outstanding doctor. All three family members have been her patient for over 20 years, and we are always very happy with her extremely competent, professional, and kind care. Exceptional and thorough doctor and staff.

I chose this doctor because she was listed on the Washingtonian's list of top doctors - but I wish I would have read the online reviews before making an appointment. The experience of so many others mirrored my own experience. The receptionist was incredibly rude but most bothersome was the doctor: she seemed rushed for time (although there was only one other person in the waiting room), arrogant, disorganized and not all that competent. She may be an ok doctor for the elderly in need of cataract surgery but other than that, I would very much recommend searching elsewhere if you are looking for a good eye doctor.
