Dr. Cynthia Sloan

After reading some of these reviews, I’m quite shocked. I have had nothing but an absolutely wonderful experience with Dr Sloan. Not only did she take her time in examining me and running tests, but she was very interested in my personal life as well. She discuss my job and what I do in order to get the full picture of what was going on with me. After running test in her office she also ordered an MRI and prescribed medication as well. After about a week I notify the office that I was still in severe pain. In a very prompt timely manner, I was given more instructions to follow. I continued next week to let her know I was still in pain. In the meantime Dr Sloan received a typed up MRI report which wasn’t matching up with my symptoms and amount of pain I was complaining of. Dr Sloan herself, read the MRI only to find out that the radiologist “was lazy in his findings!” While the radiologist said I had arthritis, Dr Sloan said she could clearly see that my results were not arthritis,… but L5 S1 damage. She immediately referred me to a neurosurgeon. She told me the results of my MRI were “really bad.” Dr Sloan showed me so much compassion and told me what an honor it was to be able to treat me as a patient. I’m not sure what all these other reviews are about but for me, Dr Sloan has been nothing short of amazing. She has shown me extreme sympathy, kindness and never rushed over anything I had to say and answered all of my questions. Her staff has been nothing short of professional and kind as well. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Sloan.

I have NEVER had a doctor as rude, degrading, and dismissive as MS. SLOAN! If you have any questions or are trying to understand something, you get talked down to in a raised voice. She interrupts constantly. Does NOT listen to what you’re saying. Does not accept or want to see tests you’ve already had that prove your diagnosis! It would be a little bit different if we were dealing with oh say, a little toe. But we’re dealing with our BRAINS!!!

You will wait for hours (3-5) while she is still at home/eating/talking to her staff, she will talk over you and is condescending and rude, she belittles her staff in front of patients and coworkers, she talks about patients diagnoses and care openly in her clinic with other patients around. She will also order tests that you don’t need so she can make money. Find a doctor with better reviews.

As a first time patient, I arrived at 10:45 for an 11 AM appointment so I could fill out the necessary paperwork which included two forms in which I consented to NOT hold Dr. Sloan liable should her dog (which comes to the office) bite or harm me. At 12:40, nearly two hours after I arrived I still had not seen Dr. Sloan (or her dog), and decided that I did not want to form a important relationship with someone who was that late to an appointment. The front office staff later advised me that there were some computer issues which were causing Dr. Sloan to be delayed, however, this seemed like an excuse to me, and other reviews I have read lead me to believe that this was the norm.

After reading the other comments I had to leave my own review. Yes the wait is long, yes she does bring her dog to work with her, and yes you will watch HGTV. However the wait is worth it, Dr. Sloan is caring, thoughtful, and excellent at what she does. Her staff is amazing and I will never go anywhere else. By the way Charles (her dog) is well behaved and adorable. Elizabeth Baughman

Very thorough doctor so after going to two other Neurologist that said nothing could be done with her dementia I want to Dr. Saolan and she went through her home medical history and got her some relief and her mind is thinking clearer ...she is kind a like a miracle Dr very thorough and very precise My wife is doing better than ever no more trip to the hospital every three months I can’t say it enough good things about this doctor

This is by far, the rudest most unprofessional doctor I've ever encountered. After posting this review, I will be reporting her to the medical board. My husband had a mini stroke. Our first visit was just for the EEG test. Then, we were to follow up a week later. When my husband went back to have the test done, an older man in the waiting room (waiting on his wife) came over and quietly asked me if we'd met the doctor before. I said no. The desperation in his face and voice for his wife to esee a different neurologist, was evident. He said that this doctor was a complete lunatic. I had seen her walk through the waiting room with her dog following her. When I saw the page in the paperwork informing patients that a therapy dog was on the premises, I had no problem, because I envisioned a dog with the identifying vest. Wrong. It was fluffy ankle biter type. We went for the results a week later. Our appointment was at 1:30 P.M., and we arrived at 1:15 P.M. We were shuttled into a room.… Her assistant came in and did some small tests and took the history of the mini strokes. That took all of 20-30 minutes. We waited and waited. Finally, I asked if we would be seen before 3:30 P.M., because we live an hour away and needed to pick up our special needs child from school at 4:30. After watching HGTV for two hours waiting on her, we got up to leave and she walked in. I told her that everyone's time is valuable and that at the time of the appointment , (seeing that I have a baby with me), it would've been nice to give me a heads up to bring a book, snack, water, make arrangements for a babysitter, etc. Then my husband chimed in and let her know that because of her, we lost income because of having our business closed all day. He let her know the residual effects of this mini stroke on him, and she rolled her eyes, looked at her assistant and laughed. He asked her what she found funny about any of it. I promise, she's never been called out like we did to her yesterday. When we left and stopped at the checkout desk, all of her staff stood there, but she walked away. There was definitely a voice raised scene. Everyone heard it. I bet her staff can't stand her. From the way she dresses to her office decor, it's obvious that she is only concerned with impressions. She is a spoiled brat, and we burst her bubble. Strapless dresses with stripper shoes is totally inappropriate for the business she is in. She took an oath to care for people. She only cares about herself. Her assistant indicated that the does conference calls from home in the mornings and comes into the office whenever. That probably explains her inconsiderate behavior. Save yourself the level of anger and crazy that we reached after meeting with her. When I read all of the reviews before adding mine, is proof that she practices this behavior consistently.

The wait time was long but the care and the time she spends with the patient is outstanding

Terrible doctor. Gave wrong diagnosis and just wanted to put me on medicine. Assistant knew more than she did about me.

Horrible time management. 3 hours for 1 hours worth if testing. Ridiculous
