Dr. Dali Yin, MD

Dr. Yin is one of the best surgeons I’ve ever met. He’s super kind, patient and knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions and concerns related to my surgeries. I’m recovering well and thankful to God for leading me to the health professionals at Insight Surgical Hospital in Flint.

I saw Dr Yin for extreme pain in my lower back. Originally it was to have a spinal cord stimulator implanted. Left with no residual pain. I saw Dr Yin for my right arm was losing strength. Dr Yin corrected the compression in my c-spine. Everything went well. My lumbar spine was painful when I conducted certain moves. Dr Yin corrected compression in my spine. However I continued having pain in a specific area of my lower back. My insurance required physical therapy. The physical therapist found I was not a candidate for PT. I was discouraged believing no one takes this pain serious since I had a number of spine surgeries. Dr Yin did believe me. He took an MRI and found an area that I'm not sure what was wrong but I trust Dr Yin with my life. This surgery was more intricate. The surgery was a success and the pain was gone. I had lumbar fusion in the past and it resulted in an increase in pain. Another doctor performed a lamination (?). That was lumbar sacral. It gave a little relief. No… one performed any treatments that took away my pain. Only Dr Yin accomplished this feat. I would absolutely recommend Dr Yin for both his expertise in treatment and for being someone whose life can be placed in his hands.

He is a very kind doctor. He will run everything he needs to get a good look of the area that your having pain , to get the best treatment plan for you. He will discuss in deep detail what to suspect and give you the best option. He will leave you the best choices to choose from and he will also suggest what he would do, no pressure.

Dr Yin spent a half hour with me going over my MRI. He dose have an accent and that may be why other struggled with him but I didn't at all. He was clear and explained how my MRI went and explained that I will need ADR on two levels. This is a very kind doctor, he spent alot of time breaking my MRI down and my options. He also put my spinal stimulator in and that went fantastic.

The staff were excellent. Dr. Yin had no idea why I was there to see him. I waited 2.5 hours to see him and he didn’t even know my diagnosis, he had to go back and read my doctor note and call him. Very disappointed!

I was excited to see someone that would finally validate my back pain after an MRI showed a compression fracture in my spine. Dr Yin walked in the room and pointed to the image of the MRI that the assistant had pulled up, explained the sections of my spine then said “any questions?” I wasn’t given any options or advice on how to proceed. I asked about PT or any stretches or exercises I could do to help. He told me “if you’re doing something and it hurts, stop doing it” I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. At the end he murmured something about surgery. I had to ask “what was that? I’ll need surgery?” He replied “eventually” even though he’d never mentioned anything about surgery! I left feeling more hopeless than before my appointment. I understand some doctors aren’t big on bedside manner but this was just an absolute waste of my time. Very disappointed. Anyone with chronic pain understands the frustration of not being taken seriously let alone not getting any answers :/
