Dr. Kitchens and his staff were very professional starting with my consultation through my surgery and of course post-op. Dr. Kitchens spent over an hour answering all my questions during my consultation and really made me feel at ease by the time I left. After making the decision to move ahead with the surgery, his staff was great in getting everything scheduled through the Frontenac Spine and Surgery Center due to hospitals being closed for elective surgeries during Covid-19. I had a microdiscectomy that went great and feel Dr. Kitchens was a great choice. I’m going on my second week of post surgery and already feel that I’m on the road to having my life back and enjoying my cycling and running again.

Dr. Kitchen’s is so knowledgeable and patient. I had a lot of questions and concerns he listened to all of them and answered all of them. His staff is very kind and helpful.

I have had excellent care from Dr. Kitchens and his staff each and every time I have seen him. The first surgery a bone spur had grown into my spinal cord which did not show up on any of the many tests, and I had spinal fluid leakage for 6 months before I was referred. Immediately after surgery the headaches were gone. He had to remove the bone spur, repair my spinal cord and then repair the ruptured disc. I would not be walking if not for his expertise. He is very caring, tells me my options and leaves the decision up to me.

After weeks of being to primary Dr and Er bc the pain was unbearable and my right leg was numb I started researching neurosurgeons. My Dr finally ordered an MRI and said I should go to Cape. My appointment was scheduled for weeks later and I couldn't wait that long. I researched as did my daughter and Dr Kitchens was the one I felt best about. I called his office and spoke to Rick who actually cared about what I was saying. 2 Days later I was seen (not weeks or months but 2 DAYS) and Dr Kitchens looked at my MRI and immediately had his nurse get on phone with my Ins to get immediate surgery scheduled. 2 hours later Ins okayed it and I was scheduled for Surgery 2 days later. So 1 week in total and I am out of that pain and walking. Whoever says he doesn't care or is bad are either speaking of wrong person or just idk bc he is by far the BEST Dr I have ever seen in my 48 yrs of life. Thank you for saving my quality of.life.
