Dr. Eugenio Fortunato Vargas, MD

Dr Vargas is not only a recognized expert in his field, he equally has excellent "bed side" manner - meaning, he takes all the time needed to understand the patients issues, and to explain in layman's terms to the patient what the issues are, and what his plans are. I always felt as if I was his only patient, never felt the pressure that he needs to run to his next patient and leave things not completely addressed. I am very happy with my spinal neck surgery I have years ago, and other spinal issues since. I must say I never have met a Doctor in my life (I am 57 now) who has such a gifted combination of great expertise AND excellent bed side manner (human factor, humble) . My highest recommendations.

Dr. Vargas conducted a thorough examination for my situation following an xray and other information. He was concise in explaining the problems I have but explained in terms that I could understand. I look forward to continued treatment with him.

Dr.Vargas is a very caring and capable physician.He operated on me twice for a brain tumor after the first one I had a round of radiation that produced dead tissue and he went in again. Tickles me at the end of every sentence and question he says "Veryy Welll" in his accent.

The wait times are absolutely ridiculous. I waited for over two hours before being seen during my first appointment. I then scheduled my second appointment two months in advance. I was on time for my second appointment, but I waited for over 90 minutes in the waiting room. Then, they told me the doctor was leaving (scheduled leave time, not emergency related) and didn't have time to see me. HE didn't have time??! I'm a professional in my respective field as well and I don't have time to waste because they can't manage their appointment schedule. Then, the receptionist LIED to me stating that she called my cell phone and work phone multiple times to cancel the appointment. Both phones keep records of calls received and no calls came from them on either line, not to mention multiple calls. I would never recommend them to anyone. They were terrible. What about the time I lost? I'm sending them an invoice. I encourage everyone to do the same if this happens to you. HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE!

I am very disappointed with my whole experience this time. I had spinal fusion in 2010 and he was wonderful. I am now having trouble again and it has taken me 2 mths to see him. I arrived for my appt and didn't get to see Dr. Vargis, saw a nurse practioner. He came straight in the room and said MRI looks fine even though I had a slight bulging disc. It seems they have no compassion. I've been in so much pain and it's like " Oh well".

Dr. Vargas is an excellent physician. He is caring, compassionate and makes you feel like he has no where else to be, you are his priority. Excellent surgeon, this is on recommendation from several friends that are nurses in the operating room where he works.

I had to ask Dr. Vargas to order tests I needed. He ordered 1 that did show the problem, He said he couldn't help. He claimed my other problem was Carpal Tunnel. I didn't trust Dr. Vargas's opinion.I went to another Dr. who did the proper tests. That Dr. diagnoused my problem as a Cervical Disc and performed the surgery needed to repair it. I now send my family and friends to that Dr.

Dr. Vargas did my cervical spine surgery,and I think he is a very good surgeon,and physician.Dr. Vargas and all his staff are very good at what they do and are very helpful with my injury and the post op. care.Thank You!

I have had two major neurological surgeries done by Dr. Vargas. He is excellent. He is also a caring person, never condescends, and never rushes you.
