Dr. Daniel Dale Varnell II, MD

If he thinks you're hard to trust he will straight up lie to you, he put me on meds he passed off as something else and it messed me up. He also just up and disappears from his jobs and leaves everyone hanging without a single word. If you're in a bad place, don't go to this dr. Find someone else

Don't make repeat my mistake of trusting this man as a psychiatric professional. When I saw him when I was in a suicidal crisis, his response was "get over it, I'm not doing anything". So I overdosed in his elevator on my way out. He's lucky I survived but true to his scumbag nature, he filed criminal charges against me claiming he felt threatened by my yelling at him. Despite my yelling was from an electric wheelchair where I am confined and unable to wipe my own butt. He doesn't deserve his current job, or any position of trust in helping people with mental illness. He's the Dr. Joseph Mengela of mental health care in SE Washington.

Dr. Varnell is a very knowledgeable, kind, courageous psychiatrist. He really listens to patients and there family. He treated 3 family members, all had positive outcomes. One was extremely ill with chronic psychosis and ongoing suicidal ideation. He went above and beyond treating him with series IV’s before he saw his regular scheduled patients, and in emergency on his lunch hour. He helped him avoid hospitalization, and saved his life. Our family will always be extremely grateful to have had Dr. Varnell as our doctor!

Dr Varnell is a horrible man and a pathetic attempt at being a psych professional. I went to see him once while I was in crisis and extremely suicidal. He told he didn't care and I should just get over it. So I overdosed in his elevator on my way out, ended up on life support. True to his nature, Dr Varnell filed criminal charges against me, claiming I was a threat to his life. Despite my being confined to an electric wheelchair and incapable of wiping my own butt. The only person I would recommend seeing him is my exwife!!

He takes the time to listen to you and NOT just pump you with all kinds of pill''s like most Doctor 's doin w2 I like thaT IDEA ..He contern about each one of clincis .. best I have went to he helped me alot when I was sick not long agggggo

I have nothing but praise for Dr. Varnell. I found that he has an innate talent for psychoanalysis and the ability to design treatment plans to fit each patient's particular needs. I suffer from both bipolar and borderline personality disorders. I have seen many psychologists and psychiatrists over the years, but Dr. Varnell was the only one who could really understand how to reach through to me. For once, I was not able to control the session. I credit his ability with psychoanalysis, and his unique and unusual persona for my progress. He requires that his patients work - necessary for any therapy to be successful. And, working with him can be very difficult, painful, and frustrating. But, for me, it was well worth. I would still be a patient of his had he not accepted a position out of state, too far for me to commute.

Dr. Varnell is condescending and arrogant. He has a godism mentality that's hard to swallow. We seek our psychiatric care out of Walla Walla
