Dr. Danilo Vitorovic, MD

We were excited to work with him. Three years later... we got referred after an emergency room visit... Doc was adamant that we were the ones wanting the appointment. Told us he would not see us any longer. He seemed to believe we initiated the appointment ourselves. Thru referrals and after seizure like episodes witnessed in hospital?... he and his team determines it is psychological. Psychological sends us back to neurology. Today he told me not to accept the referrals to neurology even if it looks like a seizure to trained nurses (patient does also have a seizure condition he is on meds for so who to see for regular appointments if not uvm?). Patient had not had an appointment for 3 years and then we are told not to bother: the Doc could have said good to have you seen anyways but instead was accusatory in a way we have never seen. He belittled the patient and family and other doctors' concerns and was extremely condensending to the patient and his caregivers. Perhaps other medical… professionals were incorrect but we are bound by our duties to follow thru on referrals and should not be told not to. He had tech problems and was late and then was very rude about ending the zoom session because we took too much of his time... no one wanted to be there any more than he did. Told us to seek better opinions at Dartmouth as his colleagues all agree with him... UVM has a very inconsequential neurology. A cluster with no real substantial scientific contribution. The weakest link in the "research" hospital. Across the board there is very bad communication and their diagnostic inquiry lacks the comprehensive intermedicinal diligence in diagnosis. This patient should not be made to feel like looking for answers and following referrals is unwelcome. If you haven't seen your doctor in 3 years and then he tells you to go fly a kite... that your wasting his time... well he isn't a good doctor. Even if this isn't a seizure it looks like his other seizures. Doc spent most of the appointment reading the patient chart after being really late, while we just stared at his head on zoom... then told us we took too much of his time going over our half hour. No offer to refer patient to the professionals he deemed correct or work with those professionals for a real diagnosis. We were dismissed. Good thing this doc is decreasing his hours at UVM. Good riddance. UVM needs a neurology rehaul. They are the weakest link in a dysfunctional hospital system.

Dr. Vitorovic is a great doctor. Strongly recommend.
