Dr. Gerardo David Rodriguez-Gomez, MD

My son was on life support at Washoe Medical Center 21 years ago today. One of the reasons he is alive today is because of Dr. Rodriguez and his courage to disagree with the pediatric cardiologist. I am very grateful for his professionalism and his morality to do the right thing in the face of adversity from one of his colleagues.

I saw dr. Rodriguez as a child and couldn't have asked for a better neurologist. He really cared. I have not seen the same since I have started seeing adult neurologists and if I could I would go back to see him.

He walked into my son's hospital room and said he did not have epilepsy. I asked him if he had any other theories. He said, "all I can tell you is your son does not have epilepsy." He left the room. My son had symptoms a few days later. We took him to another pediatric neurologist. After a quick EEG, he was diagnosed with epilepsy.

I have had the unfortunate experience of 2 of my children having grand mal seizures. Dr Rodriquez was the neurologist that cared for both of them. We saw him on and off for over 8 years and couldnt have asked for more. He and staff were always professional and helpful. Dr Rodriquez explained treatment options and reasons clearly and always made my kids feel comfortable and put my mind at ease.

I found the whole experience worth it. There was a referral process which there was a wait but not long considering he is a specialist. I found the staff to be courtesy and kind. I was not put off by other posts anyone who knows personal information about the manager or their dog obviously must be a disgruntled employee. I asked around town and he is highly respected and not at all lazy.

Wonderful doctor. We have been taking our daughter to him for the past 2 years.

Dr. Rodriguez told us our son would never walk, talk, or potty train when he was 7 months old. He is 5 years old now and plays soccer, uses a ton of sign language, has several words he uses, and is potty trained. When I contacted Dr. Rodriguez about this last year I got no response what so ever. You would think he would be happy for my son and have a kind word for the good job we have done with him.
