Dr. Darby Ellen Murphy, MD

Had 2 MCs and she was totally unconcerned about it. She also said progesterone doesn’t matter in pregnancy, which is a very wrong statement for a doctor to make when docs world over have different views in practice. Appointments are rushed. She doesn’t connect on a personal level.

Dr. Murphy and her staff could not have been more professional, caring and informative. I am having some medical issues that are quite concerning to me. Dr. Murphy has been kind, straight forward and accommodating. She discusses all options with me and was concerned about my comfort with procedures. She even drew a picture to simplify my condition. I would highly recommend Dr. Murphy.

I do not at all understand these negative reviews, they are patently untrue. Dr. Murphy is a wonderful physician. She spends at least 20 minutes with me and answers every single one of my questions and never makes me feel rushed or like she doesn't have time. She consistently washes her hands upon entering and exiting the room and she has never once forgotten to close the door for privacy. She is incredibly kind and caring and has a wonderful, bubbly personality. She is very gentle when examining you and respects that you're definitely in an awkward position during the exam. I cannot believe that some of these reviewers would rate her negatively, I think they must be untrue reviews because every single time I have seen Dr. Murphy she has been nothing but perfect and professional in every way. I had complications after the delivery of my daughter and she spent an incredible amount of time with me, talking about options, my feelings, etc. I never even for a second felt like she was… trying to rush me or that she didn't have time to spend with me. I honestly cannot recommend Dr. Murphy enough and hope that people read this (true) review and believe me that she is amazing.

Dr Murphy was great. She answered all my questions before even having to ask and still made sure I left confident. If I wasn't changing groups to get a different PCP I would have stayed with her!

Dr. Murphy has very poor bedside manner. She’s rude, curt, and dismissive.

I was recently drop from the doctor that was treating me. I am 34 weeks, I am considered a high risk pregnancy. I was worried about finding a doctor to accept me. DR. Murphy had a game plan from the very first visit. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. I had trouble getting my medical records and one of the nurses (Catherine) has gone above and beyond to help me. I would recommend the Huntley location to any one.

She rushed through exam. Doesn’t listen to you or take you serious. Your just another number and doesn’t care about your health. I do not recommend ! Find a better Doctor ! Will not go back ever or recommend !

This doctor does NOT close the exam door when she talks to patients and gives test results. She’s rushed and hurried and doesn’t spend any time with patients. Women’s cancers run in my family and it is very important that I get answers to my questions and she is very dismissive of my questions or concerns about my family history. By her attitude and poor bedside manner I am not confident in this doctor at all.

Do yourself a favor and skip this one--she's curt, rude, dismissive and shows not a shred of care or concern for you as a patient or a human being, not to mention her diagnosis on me was totally off base, and could have had horrible consequences. She did a gynecological exam on me and never told me I had an abscess on my upper back thigh, instead gave me meds for a UTI. The meds of course did nothing, and the abscess continued to get worse, and when I finally got to the point I could not even SIT without pain, I went back to her and after manhandling me and squeezing the life out of me, she tells me I don't have any cysts, and by the way, I have an abscess but there's nothing she can do about that and I have to go to the emergency room! Then she walks out after telling me "have a nice day". Really? Have a nice day when I'm in such terrible pain? Did she think that was funny? To add insult to injury, she left the door to the exam room open as she exited, and started criticizing me to… some student who was following her about like Hamlet's ghost. What a horrible person! When I arrived at the emergency room, they took me in for immediate surgery because by that time I was shaking, had chills and fever, and the infection was spreading terribly! I could have died because of this idiot! If you like being manhandled, insulted, and mistreated, then you've found the perfect doctor. Otherwise, give this ignorant so and so a wide pass. She should be digging ditches somewhere--she seems to know how to handle a jackhammer better than a woman's body.

If you are looking for a doctor who barely closes the door to the exam room, spends less than two minutes with you, completes an exam in 15 seconds, doesn’t answer questions, is rude, rushed, dismissive, has no bed side manners, and goes over test results with the exam room door open for all to hear then this is the doctor for you!
