Dr. Bomback has literally changed my life. I work out and am in shape, but had been struggling with my scoliosis and the resulting sciatica pain for years. As I got older it was getting worse and worse to the point that I could barely walk 200 yards without extreme pain. Five months ago Dr Bombeck did a spinal fusion from L1-L5 and it was scary, intense, and painful. but worth everything to me. The recovery took time and patience, but I am an entirely different person and will live a much better life in the years to come because of this surgery. I am now biking, walking, hiking, and working out daily and feel like an entirely new person, Best of all, I am only 5 months in and every week I feel like I am getting stronger and stronger. In fact, Dr. Bombeck is confident that i will be skiing this winter which makes me incredibly happy. Dr. Bomback came highly recommended by my physical therapist and is well respected by my other physicians. I endured a year of conservative approaches to avoid surgery because the time recovering after surgery seemed daunting to me. I got to the point where my L3/4 degenerative spondylolisthesis (slipped disc) was affecting my recreational activities, not to mention that I was getting very tired of the shooting pain going down the outside of my legs. I’m a 61 year old female, personal trainer and group fitness instructor and in my spare time, I exercise! I love to be outdoors, especially with friends, anything to keep my body moving. A decision to go forward with surgery is always taken seriously, and in addition, the approach and possible risks also needs to be considered. I did my due diligence and sought out a second opinion from a very respected Spinal Neurosurgeon whose approach was more invasive than Dr. Bomback’s. I returned to Dr. Bomback who was very patient (as he was… the first time around) as he re-explained my options, the risks and the probable outcome. He was understanding and compassionate, I never felt rushed and he was very thorough to make sure that all my questions were answered and concerns were addressed. From the initial consultation to my almost last follow-up (I’m 5 months post-op), Dr. Bomback and his staff were professional, timely and work together like a well-oiled machine. I received clear instruction in regard to prepping for the surgery, what to expect at Danbury Hospital and post-op pain management. I was able to stand by my hospital bedside 8 hours after spinal fusion surgery, and discharged the next day. WOW. Dr. Bomback is a talented, skilled surgeon … and a magician too! LOL. I had some concerns about how my scars were healing one week out and there was no hesitation from Dr. Bomback to come in, which really set my mind at ease. Actually it was Dr. Kramer who saw me and he treated me with the same kindness and compassion. It may take a few months to get on his calendar, but aren’t YOU worth the wait? Go with the best, Dr. Bomback who will treat you like you’re his most important patient. THANK YOU Dr. Bomback, you have given my active life back to me. I have already returned to bike riding, golfing, hiking and hopefully, I’m inspiring my students and clients to keep active, no matter what obstacles come their way.

Dr Bomback could not treat my condition. Yet he listened attentively, gave me the time I needed, explained my condition, and made several recommendations. I think he is the most compassionate doctor I have ever seen.

I had minimally invasive spinal surgery done by Dr. Bomback and the results have been amazing! He removed a synovial cyst that had developed at L4-L5 vertebrae and he inserted a small titanium spacer to keep the discs from rubbing and to keep the spinal nerves from being impinged. I am now pain free & very happy with the results. Surgical pain was easily manageable and after a week, most surgical pain was gone. After 4 weeks, my back felt better than it had in 5 years!
