Dr Gazely is not only knowledgeable, skilled and thorough, he is concerned and caring. He is absolutely one of the finest physicians I have ever had in my 76 years. Coming from a retired nurse, that is saying something.

Dr Gazeley is an incredible Rheumatologist. He always does a thorough exam, talks about my immunizations, any new or worsening issues whether or not they are related to RA; discusses whether or not we should change, increase or decrease my meds, we discuss future plans on things he'd like me to consider doing, etc. Dr Gazeley is very thorough, kind, considerate, professional and personable. I wouldn't go to any other doctor so he better not retire in the next 20+ years! :)

Dr. Gazely is one of the most compassionate persons I have come in contact with. I am very lucky to have him as my Rheumatologist!

I unfortunately have to be dealing with this doctor due to insurance, but I do not like him. He brushed off my symptoms despite having high indicators of wide spread body inflammation, and his only advice was, "it's probably cancer." I had to go back to my PCP while panicking who didn't understand why he would say something like that, and when I had another flare up (swollen joints, nodules, itchiness on joints, redness) and took photos, my PCP sent a message to him and NOW he seems "interested" in my case. For someone who deals with the complexities of rheumatic diseases and considering the nature of them where trying to have an appointment during an actual flare up is well known to be hard, he really doesn't seem to care about diagnosing or actually treating something that is very clearly rheumatic and not something my PCP is capable of diagnosing and treating.

I agree with the other patient that Dr. Gazeley did not seem to take symptoms or the impact they were having on my life seriously. Extraordinary measures were being taken to live a semi-normal life. I was diagnosed with SLE and placed on steroids and antirheumatics. I called a few weeks after my appointment to report no improvement with my symptoms and the impact it was starting to have with my job. He explained it was part of the process to give it time, so I did. Meanwhile he encouraged me to go to work dismissing that at the end of the day I couldn't move (literally)! I reported the same concerns to my primary who put me on a short term leave until my symptoms were better controlled with the new medications. After another month with no improvement I was desperate and increased the frequency of my steroids to see how my body responded and it worked! I lost hope up until that point. I called his office the following Monday to explain once again and requested him to increase… frequency of the steriods. After some pushback eventually he did. I'm exhausted. Every day I struggle with this illness and don't feel I should have to struggle with the Dr. too! I trusted him because this is his specialty but now I feel his care is Not individualized to his patients. So I will be looking for another rheumatologist.
