Dr. David Alan Goertzen, MD

Was admitted to hospital with a diagnosis of an infection in a total knee replacement joint. Infectious disease doc as well as the hospitalist both said the joint needed to be taken out, and had very easy-to-understand explanations as to why that needed to happen. Dr Goertzen said there was no infection and that nothing needed to be done. This was over a holiday weekend, so was impossible to get a second opinion. Dr Goertzen did finally consult with a “joint specialist” on the Monday following the holiday, and it was decided to do surgery that day, but NOT the joint removal that the ID doc felt should happen! Had a follow—up with the doc who put in my original joint. Funny thing—he says the joint needs to be removed and eventually replaced! So I think the surgery I did have was a waste of time and money! Will also agree with the reviews about his bedside manner. He seemed to always be in a hurry to leave the room, and was the first doc I have ever argued with to try to get him to… listen to the ID doc, to no avail.

I had compartment syndrome and needed surgery. Thankfully, I found Dr. Goertzen

Was referred after an accident, at appointment he looked at MRI to see if injury was sugical, he said it wasn't and therefore did not address the damage that was done, just wanted out of the room... he is only goldmining for surgery candidates. Run Away

Run don't walk ( if you can walk) away get another doctor

Dr.gerston, a very good dr. I'm still having a lot of trouble with my right hand. I would like to get a second opinion about it. I need copies myX-rays and records.. Can you send them to me or do I need to come pick them up? Please let me know soon. Thank you

The doctor did such terrible job on my shoulder, it was 90% out of place 10 days after my surgery. The stories of malpractice and surgeries that had to be redone are all over the fort Wayne area. Not a good choice, get a second opinion.

No bedside manner or compassion. Only interested in part he is fixing, not the whole patient. Seems busy & preoccupied. Skilled surgeon but the people part is so crucial! Zero warmth...should have been a vet!

Was inaccurate on second opinion test results. Horrible bedside manner. Doesn't answer your questions or care how you feel. Wants a paycheck and your money. Lets people unauthorized make decisions about your care and discusses it with them. Please please chose another MD.

rushes thru patients, doesnt care, makes you feel like a peice of meat
