Dr. David A Hochberg, MD

Rude, uncaring and frankly he wanted to do a biopsy on an area that looked normal. Mentioned getting a second opinion and he got angry, berated me and made me cry. But that just made me want to get one even more. Got second opinion, no biopsy was necessary! Would have been for nothing on a normal feature inside my bladder. Would not wish this doctor on anyone, steer clear!!

I rarely or never writes reviews however this is my second visit to this doctor Hochberg and the second time that I have been overcharged by Dr Hochbergs office for the visits. My insurance company had to get involved so that I would receive a refund for the overcharged amounts. This is the most unprofessional doctor that I have visited.

Upon my 1st visit with doctor Hochberg found a lump near one of the ureter holes in my bladder. He wanted to do a biopsy and I did not want to, yet. He wanted to check it again and 3 months. So, 3 months later (today) he does another cystoscopy, and at first the machine doesn't work for 5 or 6 minutes while I'm laying there, then finally they unplug and replug and it comes on. He does not even look at the area where the bump was. Probably because I asked to take a photograph of it to show my husband. See, they don't take a snapshot of it on the video screen! He just "takes notes" instead. So he never showed me the area where the original bump was... either his notes weren't very good or he forgot where it was or he simply didn't want to look for it. Arty there end, he never even sat down with me, they just said I'm done and to come back "as needed". To me that is malpractice and no help whatsoever to see if the bump/lump has changed. Will NEVER go back or recommend his horses… rear-end to anyone! Bad practice. Zero stars.

This guy has terrible manners and assumes that you're recording him when you have your phone out in the office. I was trying to help my grandmother who suffers from Alzheimer's disease the facts regarding her health, but he jumped to conclusions and was hostile towards me despite me trying to help her. It seems as though the office is just as rude as the doctor himself because they questioned whether I was recording him when I was just referencing information that my aunt had given me regarding her condition. If you want to go to a doctor who shows signs of aggression, check him out!

First initial visits cancer was discovered. Since cancer was involved, I ask Hochberg if a second opinion would be okay before moving forward. His response was it would not bother him in the least. Once returning to Hochberg for another medical issue the first thing out of his mouth was, you saw another surgeon for the first issue. From then on Hochberg helping me with my current medical problem was nonexistent. He was so arrogant because I had seen another Doctor for the previous completely different issue, he did nothing to help diagnose my current condition. What ever happen to the Hippocratic Oath these doctors swore too. It sure looks like competing with other Doctors is much more important than curing patients.

My husband went to this doctor 3 years ago when he had prostate cancer. The doctor explained that he had performed over 300 prostatectomies, with a very high success rate. He also said he would not have a problem if we went for a 2nd opinion. We did so , and found we were more comfortable with a surgeon who had performed 4000+ of the same procedure. Fast forward to today, when my husband returned to him to seek advice/care on another issue. First thing out of this doctor's mouth: Why are you here? I made recommendations and you went someplace else." After 10 minutes of perfunctory q and a, he said "I have no recommendations." He told us to go back to the other doctor, who is a surgeon, not a urologist. Our conclusions: This man has a very large (or perhaps very small?) ego, does not care about the patient, and will not tolerate your seeking a 2nd opinion.

He's the definition of a bad doctor. He spent the entire office visit talking and wouldn't let me get a word in. I went to have my questions answered, not to be lectured or read the WebMD causes for kidney stones. On the off chance I could get a few words in, he'd just dismiss me and made me feel like a number. It definitely felt like I was being pushed through so he could see more people. He's also VERY full of himself.

I think Dr Hochberg is very good, no issues with my procedure, but no one picks up the phone at both offices, so frustrating.
