Dr. David Myatt Melniczek, MD

Saw Dr Melinczek for rectal cancer. He took time to actually talk to us every time we were in to see him. He explained everything and answered all of our questions. His staff is always helpful and pleasant. Highly recommend him.

Dr. Melniczek saved my husband’s life. After a blockage in his intestines was seen by another surgeon we were told it was cancer and he was full of it. Non operable they said. Dr Milneczek took his case and removed a small section of radiation damaged intestine. That was over 10 years ago. We are so grateful he was brave enough to take on our case.

Surgery was painful! Dr. Melniczek did not allow enough time for the numbing to take affect, the cut was made on lower abdomen and I went into shock during half of the procedure until the second dose of anesthesia was administered. Recovery was painful and healing took longer then normal. After 6 months the pain in the surgical area still exists. I will be seeing a different doctor. On a two star note: The doctor does spend reasonable time with patients, but mostly talks about himself. His diagnosis was correct for the second procedure done that same day and was less painful. Office staff is helpful and I'll give them 4 stars.

doctor refused to answer question, lost temper , told me i should find another doctor, and stormed out of exam room. returned after 30 sec-minute and scolded me for questioning him, told me "I shouldn't be having this conversation with my doctor", and stormed out again and didn't return . after about a minute i left. All of this took place with exam room door open. i was also charged $280 for this experience. very poor patient skills, lack of respect for patient. i was just asking what i thought was a valid question.

Dr. Melniczek is the worst surgeon ever!!!! He didnt show up to perform my fiances appendix operation until 14 hours later! My fiances appendix burst while waiting for Dr. Melniczek. He never came by afterwards to check on my fiance after the surgery. He lies!!!! He is a delinquent! Found out that he did this before to a girl I met at a bank 8 years earlier!

Just had a paraesophageal hernia repair that was causing me great difficulty in breathing. It's only day two but I don't feel as heavy in my chest as he had to remove 50% of my stomach that had moved into my chest cavity. My blood gases are much better and I am hopeful that I can get around again.

I knew Dr Melniczek when he was in Butler. He was a great surgeon. He talked to his patients not at them. I felt very at ease around him and alot of women found him very attractive. If he removed a mole or lesion, his skills were spot on. He never left a scar. He was very down to earth. Usually when patients come on here, it's to gripe and moan. Honestly? You came in to get your appendix removed and he took out your colon...hmmm...did you have metastatic cancer when he went to remove your appendix? You're truly ignorant. He more than likely saved your ungrateful life. You slander him. Anonymously on line. You're pathetic. Pick up a medical book or read up on your condition online at the mayo clinic website before you defame an innocent person doing his job. Twit. True, Dr Melniczek May have been a talker, but he put many more patients at ease with his down to earth methods than walk in with a stick up his butt and treat patients like he had a God complex. If that man was rude to you,… I'd have to ask what prompted it..we're you initially rude or critical in the first place. I've seen alot of patients come in and make outrageous demands and act as if the world owed them ever petty indulgence. I've seen many who made you remember exactly why you care for people. Your heart goes out to them. But those who criticize without ever understanding a single thing about the medical field are spoiled ungrateful people who truly need to grow up. It's a real shame that some patients are so self indulgent that they push themselves to the head of the line , over trivial complaints regarding their wait time when the doctor is called to emergency surgery because someone will die if he doesn't get there as those who sit patiently waiting to hear if they have cancer , or if the chemotherapy has a high success rate for their cancer are treated like they're less by these people. You're sickening. Where were you raised? Where do you get justification for behaving in such a manner? I've been in offices where people on gateway blame the staff when they neglected to get a referral, which is their responsibility..the patients..not the staff. That lady and her daughter called the staff every name in the book while the staff calmly and politely tried to explain if they saw the patient without it, the patient would be stuck with the bill and gateway would refuse to pay. The staff was trying to calm the situation. Thank God security came. Staff was more upset about the patients being exposed to those idiots tirade. And apologized for the patients behavior after they left. Some people live to make everyone in their path miserable. I felt sorry for the girl. I'd been there 3 times. She had the kindest heart.. I really don't know what's wrong with people these days. They act like the world revolves around them, like they're owed something . It's sad.

I have never met a doctor who is has more care or compassion for his patients. I wouldn't hesitate to see him again. He has helped make my Lap Band journey a success!

Found doctor to be extremely arrogant and very know-it-all-ish. Condescending and rude, obviously has a general disgusg with anyone he considers to be overweight and will even approach those attending office visits or hospital visits with the patient about undergoing weight loss surgery which is extremely offensive and unprofessional. Doctor would rather discuss his personal affairs than attend to patent's concerns or questions, which again is extremely unprofessional and crosses the doctor-patient boundaries.
