Dr. David Sellers Walton, MD

At the age of three, after other specialists said there was no hope in saving my sight, Dr Walton did. That was almost 50 years ago. After 30 surgeries I see 20/20, and have had a productive and blessed life. Thank You.

He takes time to talk with you and is caring and well trained. However, perhaps because he concentrates on the treatment of the eyes, I found out the hard way that he may not consider how his treatments may adversely effect other parts of the body.

Takes an interest in his patients and doesn't stop trying to diagnose the issue and willingly called other physicians for consultation. A remarkable Doctor and person.

While Dr. Walton was able to diagnose our 4 week old baby's rare disease and we are very appreciative. However we never saw him wash his hands before touching our baby and often his equipment didn't work. Every appointment we had we never knew what to expect and he told us very little about is long term goals. She had surgery which was discovered unnecessary and so while in OR Dr Walton performed injections which we were told about after they were done. If he was thinking it may be something he would do we would have liked to know prior. Also he didn't tell us until a week later that he was planning on these injections every 10 days which would be Surgery every 2 weeks. Absolutely not!! We wouldn't allow it and it was never mentioned again. So was it really necessary.? Again we felt so uninformed. I think because he doesn't have an office manager he has too much going on. Answering the phone during our appointments, etc. handling money then touching our baby. Money is so dirty. We… ended up going to another physician.

I have three children with congenital cataracts who are Dr. Walton's patients. I can't say enough good things about him. He is the most skilled physician that I know. He is well respected by his patients, their families, and his colleagues. I know for a fact that without his care for my children, they would have had greater complications and in fact would have lost all vision. He has been a huge blessing to our family.

I started seeing Dr. Walton when I was 5 until I was 12. Dr. Walton performed Strabismus Surgery on me at age 8. I went 10 years without an issue, but once puberty ceased, I started having problems again. I had a surgeon here in RI but he did not measure up to Dr. Waltons high standards. I actually miss him.

I started seeing Dr. Walton when I was four years old. I am now 30, and still see him for check ups. I could easily go to someone else, as I currently live in NC, but I trust and respect Dr. Walton, and sincerely enjoy visiting him to not only get the best eye care, but to see how he is doing. It is a testament to how much he cares about his patients that after all these years, he still finds time to fit me in his schedule. He is modest, but I have no problem singing his praises as people come from all over the world to see him, and as I mentioned above, he is the very best. The only minor downside is having to wait sometimes. However, I would wait weeks in order to receive the best care for myself and my family. And the only reason you may have to wait is because he spends as much time as necessary to make sure you understand what is going on, and truly cares about each patient. He is not like many dr.'s who simply rush you in and out to fill a quota. I can not say enough about Dr.… Walton. He is truly an exceptional human being.

Dr. Walton has been our son's eye doctor since he was 10 weeks old, our son is now 5. Dr. Walton made himself available to us immediately upon diagnosis -- which was the weekend. If your child has any eye issues at all,we absolutely recommend Dr. Walton -- no matter the distance. We are out of state, and it is worth the trip. Dr. Walton has officially cured our son of his eye issues...We continue to see him for our yearly check-ups. He is friendly, great with children, and super with the parents. Gives us the time we need, explains in detail.

I have seen Dr. Walton since I was 12. I am now 26. He has conducted no fewer than 4 glaucoma surgeries on me over those 14 years. I have the utmost respect and confidence in him. He is the best in the business.

When my 3 month old son was diagnosed with Glaucoma it was Dr. Walton who saw us on a sunday and immediately got surgery scheduled. He preformed the surgery himself.My son, now 14 years old is doing great. If I had to wait 5 hours to see the doctor each time I would do so without complaint.
