A Dangerous Doctor - What Happened Under Dr. David Yeh's Care Was Unforgivable! This review is written on behalf of a family whose life was permanently altered by the actions of Dr. David D. Yeh. The patient underwent a routine carpal tunnel surgery in 2015 -- but due to Dr. Yeh's reckless choices, that procedure turned into a catastrophic, irreversible injury. Dr. Yeh used an experimental surgical device (MANOS CTR) that most surgeons do not use. He never informed the patient that he had a $100,000 personal investment in the company that made the device. He failed to offer safer, well-established alternatives such as traditional open surgery, and provided no adequate explanation of risks. He performed the surgery with: - The nerve safety monitor turned off, - The patient under deep sedation, unable to provide feedback, - No visualization of the nerve, relying solely on ultrasound -- which he admitted he was not trained to use with this device. The result? The median nerve was… completely severed. The patient -- once fully independent -- lost critical function in one hand, and now lives with permanent disability, pain, and emotional trauma. MRI and EMG confirmed the nerve was cut. A second surgeon had to perform emergency graft surgery -- too late for full recovery. Court records (Case No. 16CV296817, Santa Clara County) show that: - Dr. Yeh's insurer paid a $400,000 settlement to resolve the malpractice suit; - Medical experts testified that his conduct fell far below the standard of care; - On June 25, 2019, the case was dismissed WITH PREJUDICE (see official court form CIV-110), confirming the case was fully resolved and cannot be refiled. This case is not about a 'bad outcome.' It is about negligence, undisclosed financial conflict, and irreversible harm caused by one doctor's poor judgment. The family deeply regrets ever trusting Dr. Yeh. Patients deserve honesty, safety, and ethical care -- not this.

On January 14, 2022, my elderly mother (nearly 80 years old) was diagnosed with a 2 cm grade 1 meningioma at El Camino Health - Mountain View. It was a slow-growing, benign tumor, and she had no neurological symptoms. She was living independently, with no impact on her daily life. Despite this, Dr. David Yeh strongly insisted on immediate brain surgery. I was firmly opposed to the idea due to her age, the tumor's benign nature, and the fact that it was not affecting her function or safety. I specifically asked whether non-surgical or conservative management could be considered. Dr. Yeh dismissed my concerns, became visibly impatient, and declared that "surgery is the only option." He insisted that my mother might fall and injure herself in the future, calling the procedure "very low risk." Dr. Yeh performed the surgery on January 18, 2022. Unfortunately, my mother suffered severe postoperative complications. She passed away just 40 days later, on February 28, 2022. What was even… more shocking was Dr. Yeh's complete absence and lack of responsibility after the surgery. Despite repeated calls and requests from the hospital during those 40 days -- urging him to check in on her condition -- he ignored them. He never visited, never followed up, and showed zero empathy or professional concern. Only after repeated escalation from the hospital staff did Dr. Yeh call me -- about two days before my mother died. The call lasted less than five minutes. He never asked about her condition. Instead, he used the brief call to repeatedly emphasize that he was "not responsible" for what had happened. This kind of cold, defensive, and dismissive behavior is not what any patient or family deserves. Dr. Yeh's lack of compassion, unwillingness to consider alternatives, and abandonment of post-operative care obligations are deeply disturbing. I write this not out of anger, but to warn others. Please be very cautious before agreeing to surgery under his care -- especially for elderly patients with manageable or non-urgent conditions. My mother deserved better. Your loved ones do too.

Dr. Yeh did such a poor job on my lower back that I have problems walking, bending over to pick items up and in the morning need a walker to get out of bed. He care nothing to ignore yor problems. I am in constant pain from morning to night. Because I am in much back pain, I was unable to dance with my daughter at her wedding. Do not walk away from this Doctor but "RUN".

I can't say enough about my experience with Dr. Yeh, his surgical team and office. My experience was and continues to be outstanding and professional. Communication throughout the process was clear and understandable. They are patient and empathetic. They thought ahead about my needs and the healing processing and timeline to inform me and provide options. After my initial visit with Dr. Yeh, I had total confidence I'd made the right choice. You are in excellent hands with Dr. Yeh and his team.

I just saw Dr. David Yeh, the neurosurgeon who did my spinal fusion surgery....for the last time. He's releasing me from his care. He says I'm doing EXCELLENT and I'm on 'cruise control' from here on out!!! YAAAAYYY!!! I'm SOOOO grateful to this doctor for his professionalism, great bedside manners, attention to detail and for giving me back my functions and my life! I highly recommend him to anyone who may need spinal surgery. He's an amazing surgeon and a truly nice guy!!!

He just take your money and never help you, he just give me whatever diagnostic, and never put attention what I feel with his results, and his resume is not true

Yes, do your homework when looking for a surgeon, and read real-life reviews because weâ??re talking about your long term health. I was not diligent about selecting my first surgeon; my first spinal surgery put me through crippling pain that nearly tore apart my relationship with my loved ones and caused me years of misery. Other doctors said that I had â??Crushed Bodyâ?? syndrome and would have to live with it. After moving to the South Bay and doing my homework and getting recommendations, I saw Dr. Yeh. These recommendations came from a number of sources, acquaintances who were in the field, other doctors and my physical therapists. Dr Yeh reviewed my case over a four-month period, until he had a plan, which included revision of the previous surgery to S1 through L3 and an additional fusion to L2. He also did micro-surgery to the spinal column removing scaring and calcification that the previous surgeon didnâ??t and wouldnâ??t have considered. The contrast between recoveries was… dramatic; I knew the moment I woke up that crushing pain was gone. I was walking again the day of the surgery, something I was barely able to do for weeks after the first one. Much of the pain caused by the first surgery is relieved and just three weeks out Iâ??m walking the dog, mobile in the household and realizing that pain medication will not be a part of my life. I am happy to say that I would stand up for Dr. Yeh and his abilities at any time and I thank him for my life, my health, my piece of mind, and my relationships back.

Dr Yeh did my surgery (spinal fusion) and he is the best doctor ever. I would reccomend him over and over again. He explained the surgery before with great detail. And has been wonder full for all my post opps

I have been under Doctor Yeh's care for about 5 months now and will continue seeing him until I am fully healed. He is an EXCELLENT Surgeon and truly CARES about his patients. He is busy and has a lot going on so he may seem aloof but if YOU get in depth with him, he gets fully in depth back. As patients, we need to do our part in the doctor/patient relationship. Do yours as a patient and Dr. Yeh will most definitely do his.
