Dr. Dean Nichols Walker, MD

I was charged for services that weren't rendered. I rarely leave negative reviews, but i was charged for an office visit and a physical exam. I showed up to a follow up appointment and no vital signs were taken (weight/height, B/P, HR) were taken, no assessment was done on my knee. Doctor didn't have access to MRI results so he just read the results off a piece of paper that I provided. Was charged over $300 for this visit (with assessment and vital signs recorded). I tried to fight the bill, but the office said all the services were rendered. I went to another ortho a few months later and received a lot better care. I hope anyone who chooses Dr. Walker has a better experience that I did.

Dr Walker was to repair a torn rotator cuff. A year after surgery I was still in pain and unable to perform daily living tasks. During this time I was having physical therapy. Dr Walker told me there was nothing else he could do. He did not perform an exam on my shoulder or order an x-ray to determine what the problems were. In addition the time in the waiting room was 1 - 1 1/2 hours plus 1/2 - 1 hour wait in the exam room. Dr Walker is an arrogant man. I proceeded to see Dr Metcalf for help. He performed surgery. I no longer have pain and my arm is functioning. Not having ever written a review, I feel strongly enough that I want to warn others. Its four years later, I don't write this in haste.

There are many qualities that make a great doctor and Dr. Dean Nichols Walker has them all. He is not only highly skilled in his profession but also takes the time to listen. He truly cares about you and will do everything to bring you back to your normal, active life. He has “fixed” me many times. He replaced my hip, repaired my calcaneus heel bone that was broken in three places, rotator cuff replacement and after an auto accident put five pins in my foot so I could walk again. More recently, I started to have some serious problems with my leg and knee. After his operations, once again, he was able to "fix" me. He made himself available for me to contact him with questions or concerns. Because of this Great Doctor I know I will be back to my daily routine and exercises soon. I highly recommend Dr. DeanWalker. He is the best of the best.

After being told I had either a torn meniscus or torn ligaments see Dr. Dean Walker. on August 8, 2017. After reviewing my s-ray, and saying there was nothing wrong with my knee or hip that it was my back. He said I needed a back Dr. and had his PA give me a shot on my knee. He said I could resume Zumba in about 10 days. I did and it only aggravated my knee more. After 2 shots on my back, my left calf doubled in size resulting in a visit to my regular caretaker. She arranged an ultrasound where the report said not only did I have a torn meniscus but a Bakers Cyst as well. I saw another Ortho in Nov., and took him the same x-ray that Dr. Walkers office took. He said I had a torn meniscus and arranged for surgery on Dec.7, 2017. If Dr. Walker had bothered to check my x-ray more thoroughly, I would not have gone the rest of my summer in pain. I would not recommend him to anyone.

I would recommend Dr. Walker and his staff. If you have to see a surgeon something bad happened!! But you would be in great hands with Walker.

Dr. Walker performed a lateral release surgery on my knee a few years ago and it changed my life. It has allowed me to enjoy skiing, hiking, biking and other sports again without the horrid pain I had prior to the surgery. I am so thankful for this procedure and for Dr. Walker. Before surgery, my knee would grind, but now it glides smoothly. He was professional, personable, gave me excellent care and made me feel like he really cared. I highly recommend him and he has my complete confidence. Thank you Dr. Walker for improving my life with my knee surgery.

Dr. Dean Walker is very scattered brained and quit bazzzar! Every visit he seemed to change him mind about my care and needs. He never took time with me and always felt really rushed. Every appt. he changed his mind about what kind of care I needed and what exactly the problem was with my knee. After my surgery instead of getting better I gradually got worse. I changed doctors quickly and would NEVER reccomend Dr. Walker to anyone!
