Dr. Debra Lee Dollar, MD

Dr. Dollar has been my primary doctor for a few years. She is an excellent doctor. I have great confidence in her, and I’m very grateful for the excellent care she has provided for me. Dr. Dollar and her staff are always kind and responsive.

Dr Dollar is a great listener and tries to work with patients. She is good to refer to specialist when needed.

Dr. dollar is the best doctor ever. I had to switch insurance which made me go to community care which was a joke. At community care they're so busy with their workload when you do get an appointment. You're in in out. Dr. dollar takes the time to listen to me and help me with my pains . ARC does not take my insurance but I could not stand community care anymore . I will just pay her out-of-pocket. My opinion she's an angel with the stethoscope

I find scheduling an appointment with her to be completely frustrating. Physicals have to be scheduled 6-9 months out. And the wait times are outrageous...never below 30 minutes. I once had to wait an hour and 45 minutes in the waiting room while I was sick. And an hour into it they even had the nerve to ask me to move my appointment to another day!!!! How could they even suggest that to a sick person that dragged their bum in there because they needed a doctor. She is polite....but tends to disregard many of my comments replying with such phrases as "we all have pain sometimes" or " you are getting old". And once she prescribed medicine which did not mix well with my thyroid medication. Thank goodness for the pharmacist! By the way, she has NEVER followed up from an appointment. NOT worth the frustration. Look elsewhere.

Dr. Dollar could not diagnose my condition after many visits. She didn't seem to care about managing my case and seemed to be trying to slough me off to a medical specialist whose specialty ended up not be applicable to my underlying illness. An accupuncturist I went to out of desperation (never thought I'd visit and accupuncturist, but symptoms got to the point I couldn't work) identified the problem and sent me to the correct type of MD for proper diagnosis and treatment.

I have been seeing Dr. Dollar for more than 15 years and I can't say enough about the great doctoring and Tlc a patient receives. Dr Dollar has seen me through many illnesses . One time I was having serious issues with my Bi- Polar and even know this was not her speciality she stayed with through the problem and helped me find a Doctor who could help me get through a very bad manic. Dr. Dollar is always behind because she take the time to define each person's problem it's worth he wait. Thank You Laura Gray I wish there were more stars she deserves them

I am a healthcare professional but have developed a number of physical problems in my middle age. I was told by several MDs that Dr. Dollar was "the best I.M. doctor in Austin." In spite of being a complicated case with high blood pressure, prostate problems, multiple allergies and MS, Dr. Dollar was outstanding, assessing my overall situation, making direct and appropriate suggestions, coordinating with my other docs and helping me immensely with my problems. She was a great listener, very thorough and the follow-through was excellent. The only negative is she runs late, but that's because she spends a lot of time with each patient. Frankly, I was shocked at some of the negative comments here. In 30 years of getting adult medical care, she's in the top 2% of doc IMO. Outstanding.

Does not get back to you if you have a problem.

Going to Debra Dollar was the best decision of my life. For years I had been going from doctor to doctor about a medical problem i had and all of them just brushed it off as something they couldn't explain. I had given up and visited Debra Dollar for some other reason. Over the period of a few months, I visited her a few times for various reasons and never returned disappointed or undiagnosed. The best part was that after seeing me a few times, she actually put two and two together and diagnosed the other problem that I had mentioned below. This was something that I was not even expecting. She actually took the trouble of sitting with my medical file, looking at my various issues over a few months and coming up with a diagnosis that explained everything including my older problem. On top of that, she also took the effort of calling me back to follow up with the diagnosis. I have never seen such a dedicated and caring doctor in my life. Unfortunately, I have moved out of town now and… have been unsuccessful finding someone even remotely as good as her for the past two years.

Although she may be an ok doctor her bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired. I always have the impression she is judging me or thinks poorly of me. I plan to find another primary care doctor in the coming year. She also has just ignored some of my health concerns.
