Dr. Diane Stevens Ford, MD

I had been to Dr. Ford in the the past and recommended many people to her. So, you can understand my surprise when I was treated so poorly by someone I respected. I went in for a common skin condition. Initially, I felt unheard and found myself trying to explain to her that she originally diagnosed me with the issue I was there for, but apparently, she felt that I interrupted her. She literally said, "You're doing all the talking so I don't need to say anything". I apologized and explained to her my intention wasn't to be rude. She said "well you cut me off three times so". I reminded her I was there for her help and apologized again. Finally, she proceeded to talk to me at that point. She was confusing me a bit, but I was afraid to ask her many questions because she was so short earlier. Eventually, we agreed on a treatment. Then, she asks me "what about your other problem?" I had no clue what she was talking about so I asked what that problem was. She said, "You need to lose weight".… She then asks me if I heard of a doctor, who I know is a surgeon that specializes in gastric bypass. I told her I did but was not interested in gastric bypass. Then she starts telling me to Google diet doctors. Literally, she gave me three names and it's in my notes provided by the nurse. Like the 'doctors' on YouTube that promotes elimination diets and fasting. I tried so hard to be cool about what she was saying, but it was painful. I could respect if she approached me by focusing on healthy changes or promoting exercise. But, gastric bypass? Fad diets? I even bought into one the doctors she mentioned in the past and told her I had his book. Still, fad dieting isn't usually something a medical professional suggests. Especially a dermatologist. And, recommending her patients to a doctor for weight loss surgery without understanding anything about their medical history, conditions or limitations is just dangerous. When I left, I sat in my car and cried for about 10mins. I was humiliated by both how she spoke to me and her approach to dealing with my diet. After talking to my husband, we agreed its best to see someone else. I called another dermatologist and told them about my appointment with Dr. Ford. They were equally appalled and was able to fit me in this week. I have never been so humiliated in my life. I tried very hard to keep my composure while in her office because I thought it was best, but she was awful. Hurtful. And down right unprofessional. We are looking into reporting this because nobody should be made to feel that way. The only redeeming thing about my experience is when I called the next day to cancel my future appointments with Dr. Ford and explained to her why. The person I spoke to in the front office was beyond apologetic and very kind. I wish I had gotten her name to post here, but I didn't, regrettably. I don't know what happened to Dr. Ford but she lost my trust, respect and my business. Perhaps, most importantly, she lost her way.

We were discussing Politics! Wrong thing to do! I am a Patriot & she told ME that I was the one that was brainwashed! I can not be comfortable w/her anymore! How can a Christian & Doctor be Pro-Choice! Have they forgotten The Ten Commandments! I grab my belongings told that we were not going get along anymore! Never again! By the way I had to wait a hour before seeing her! Sitting in my car getting cold! Wow!

To be honest, I've never met Dr. Ford! I go to this practice because of Kristina Trunnell, the PA who performs the scans/screening for skin cancer. Over the ten years or so I've been seeing PA Kristina, she has found a basal cell carcenoma, and more recently a squamish cell carcinoma. She treated me successfully for both. I understand that there are many reasons to see a Dermatologist. I see Kristina, and will continue to see her, because she has potentially saved my life more than once. To be honest, I followed her when she left a previous practice to work with Dr. Ford. Were she to relocate to a different practice within reasonable driving distance, I would follow her there.

Absolutely awful. Do not recommend. The pa told me she didn’t know what was wrong with my skin but recommended I buy a lotion to get rid of “mystery” spots. So I went to back for a follow up with Diane Ford who told me I had melasama. I was rushed the entire visit. I went to another dermatologist for a second opinion who told me that I did NOT have melasama and that the spots were just freckles. The hydroquinone helped to fade the dark freckle spots so I tried to go back to get the same lotion I had bought from DSF and was told to come in and they would mix it. Upon arrival I was told I could not pick it up and had to be seen again. I am not scheduling an appointment with a dr who gave me a wrong diagnosis. Not to mention, the receptionist I had called Said she would call me back that day and never did . Very unorganized practice.

I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Ford and her office staff. I have seen her for almost ten years following an attack of Bell's Palsy -- one which left me with long-standing changes to my face. She took the time to learn the best treatment for me and has been a supportive and caring physician over the years. I'd recommend her to anyone!

I have been a patient of Dr. Ford since I was 16 years old. She has always been very diligent in doing a full body of check of me and has taken off any moles she has found that have been slightly different. She is very good in what she does and in removing more than 6 moles from my body has prevented me from getting skin cancer. She is the only one that I trust with my issues regarding my skin.

Over the past 3+ years, their services have gradually deteriorated. The front desk is rude and technicians frequently run late. Too concerned about collecting fees - even requesting phone payments from long-time customers such as myself (Have never left a balance after a visit). There are several dermatologists along Thomas Johnson Drive that offer better services with more skilled technicians. I have found mine and will not be back.

Dr. Ford is very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. She will take good care of you and put your mind at ease. I have a fair complexion and she has discovered and removed or treated several pre-cancerous areas. I am so glad I chose her as my dermatologist. Rosemary rocks as her assistant!

Originally saw Dr Ford for a severe case of Roscea. She prescribed the most expensive cream for it which in the long run did very little. I was seen by here assistant for a body check and pointed out the small red dot on my face. Not only did the assistant have a lousy attitude (she made me feel very unimportant), but she said the red dot was nothing. I made another appt 6 months later for my Rosacea and when i went to the appt I was told they did not accept my insurance so I left and made an appt with another dermo. Well I had basal cell carcinoma and have had mohs surgery on it right away.and I was given a very inexpensive cream fro the Rosacea that does better. Now I am charged $25 for not cancelling that appt that I didnt miss and they would not take it off my account and then auto charged me for it when I complained. Do not go here!
