Dr. Dmitri Baranov, MD

Dr Baranov was extremely dismissive right from the moment he walked into the exam room, telling me that has has seen it all and heard it all. That told me he didn't really care and that I was just a number. I chose another surgeon due to his lack of interest in understanding me as a patient. Having a surgeon that actually cares about their patients makes all the difference.

Dr. Baraniv goes the extra mile for his patients. If you listen to him and follow his directions, you will be extremely happy with your results and outcome. Dr. Baraniv “tells it like it is “….. he also called me on a Sunday evening to check on my progress. Dr. Baraniv obviously cares about his patients!

Dr Baranov goes above and beyond for his patients. He went over every detail with clear explanations, took the time to answer any questions. His team was amazing from office visits, surgery and after care. Including a personal phone call on a Sunday night to check in after surgery. I would recommend him and his team to anyone looking to get heathy.

I found myself yesterday morning in the valley of the dolls. Before coming in I disclosed I would not like to see my starting weight. I would like to keep the experience positive and take things day by day not worrying about the number on the scale. I wanted to aim my focus on making the changes of habit. I would have not have made the appointment if I didnt know my weight was an issue. Creating a healthier life style will not come by hating the body that I'm in. Dr baranov is a very good sales man he starts his visits at the scale and reminds you of the number when you leave. This is my life we are talking about here. I'm a individual unique person not just another one of his clients.

I met the great dr Baranov in oct 2019 I noticed his Italian leather shoes and I said he is very Serious about his business he introduced himself to me he put me at ease he answered all my questions he has wonderful manners I am very confident with him and I recommend him to all of my friends his staff Miss Sonia Miss Rhonda and Miss Amber are great very well knowledgeable knows everyone on site and just all-around wonderful women

I am day 12 after surgery. I since the first visit lost 35 lbs. I am very happy with a doctor that is strict and only cares about your health. my diabetes has gone away and I am off my medication for that . No more Hypertension and my blood pressure is more manageable, sleep apnea is to be determined but am sure that's gone also , i feel more energetic The doctor and his staff have a great diet plan before surgery and after. Thank you doctor Baranov.

It took me over four years to wrap my head around having self inflicted surgery. After research and visits with other doctors I found Dr. Baranov. I saw his ad in the Sun. paper and attended one of his very informative seminars done by himself. Having serious medical problems there was still some hesitation. I made the appt. at his office and he answered all my questions and put me at ease. Yes he does come off a bit russian strong, but his knowledge and concern for you as a patient soon makes you know you made the right decision. I can't say enough good things about him and the personalized care I received from him and his entire staff. Feeling great after surgery and wish I had found Dr B sooner and not waited so long. If you are wondering my medical issues rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia high blood pressure, borderline diabetes. Don't put off calling for your first visit, do it now, you won't regret it.

I originally had a gastric bypass 20+ yrs ago by another doctor via open surgery. My original surgeon has since retired so i haven't had a regular Bariatric doctor in about 10 yrs. Recently I have been suffering with abdominal pain and upper GI bleeding issues. I went to Saratoga Hospital and the general Surgeon called in Dr. Baranov as a specialist. They found I had intussusception at the "Y' where my previous surgeon reconnected everything. Dr. Baranov operated and reconstructed the Y and removed the area where the insussusception was occurring via a laparoscopic procedure. I found Dr Baranov to be very informative and really thorough in his diagnosis and follow-up. It has been 2 weeks since the surgery and Dr. Baranov and his team have been very helpful in answering any questions I have had. The bleeding and the abdominal pain are gone. The laparoscopic vs open surgery was great too as the recovery time was very quick for me.

For many years I was on the fence about surgery. My son had gastric bypass with Dr. Baranov almost 4 years ago and he did really well. Being diabetic, having sleep apnea and other problems, I knew that I need this surgery and finally 8 months ago I did it! Dr. Baranov is a very good surgeon and very attentive and thorough. I am already down 4 sizes! I am off my diabetic medications and sugars are running great. The office staff is very nice and always helpful.

I had a visit yesterday just a week after his seminar. At the seminar he was a completely different person....funny, nice, informative. Yesterday he was rude and condescending! I brought my daughter with me to put her at ease about my surgery but she left with more fear then she walked in with! I felt as if he thought I was beneath him. I tried asking him questions and he seemed to be dismissive of them or he would deflect. For example, I asked him if the gastric sleeve lets the body absorb more nutrients from your food then the by pass? He seemed disgusted with my question! He said very rudely, "you take vitamins with both......People die everyday from surgery but everyone is concerned about this one"! I know I will always have to take vitamins but I also know some people who have had complications from lack of nutrients. He is the one who has the PHD and Dr. in his title. He went to college for this. I was hoping to get more answers from the "professional". I obviously know I am… overweight, I am at his practice. He doesn't have to make me feel any worse then I already do. On the plus side... I was thankful for his sweet nurse...he was amazing!
