Worst Dr ever.My husband and I went to see him for my broken wrist.He walked in shoved my husband who sitting in a chair over and “said I’ve seen over 50 patents today.”I asked politely if there were any other options other than wrist surgery he bluntly told me leave it alone and you will have a wrist like the third world country with limited mobility.I walked out pretty fast and would have had better care from a veterinary.

Dr. Lujan is a master at his craft: repairing broken bones. He has excellent bedside manner and a great personality.

This is long, but if you need an ortho for a toddler, this is for you. I'd highly encourage you to explore other options. There was NOTHING about this visit that indicated young children were welcome. E.g., the wait and exam areas had zero for little ones. Not even an old Highlights magazine! Wouldn't have been a big deal if we weren't disrespectfully kept waiting over 1-1/2 hours! That wouldn't even had been so terrible, if Dr. Lujan's visit made the wait worthwhile. Well, hope springs eternal. When he finally came in and didn't apologize or acknowledge the 1-1/2 hrs+ wait, we had an indication of his bedside manner-or lack thereof. The rest of the appt. confirmed it. E.g., the only info Dr. Lujan exasperatedly gave us was in response to our questions. Plus, many of the answers, we'd find out later, were just plain wrong or misleading (e.g., he said that Tingley may have pediatric orthopedists, but they do not have hand surgeons. WRONG. VERY WRONG.) Even though he did ask at the end… if we had any other questions, it felt wholly empty, almost sarcastic. There was even an antagonistic tone throughout the visit- perhaps he resented questions/questioning about his pediatric experience? We have a right to ask about that. By the end, we had lost confidence in anything he said and felt he had little demonstratively genuine concern for our 2 y.o.'s surgical experience. We admit that we did think maybe he was technically skilled enough and that we don't need him to be our best friend. He bragged that his own friends and colleagues send their kids to him. But, when he responded to our question about what special considerations a 2 y.o. hand may require vs. an adult hand with: "there aren't any," coupled with reading from the computer to answer some questions, well... we lost some confidence that he was right for our child. My husband and I are not doctors; we don't know what we don't know. This is why it is critical that a surgeon provide info unsolicited. Empathy would help do this. We left there thinking... we owe it to our kid to at least try someone else. There's gotta be better. P.S. all our above concerns were confirmed and affirmed when we managed to get an appt. at Tingley. The dr.s answered our questions before we asked them and gave us clear, specific, and understandable info about the procedure/possible complications/how a toddler's hand differs from a typical adult hand, etc. (all without looking at a computer!). This is when we could confirm that Dr. Lujan had given us wrong/misleading info. In short, everything we expected from Dr. Lujan we actually got at Tingley-without having to ask for it. We even got smiles. We are so much more comforted by the confidence we have in the Tingley staff. They even sent in a Child Life Specialist to talk with ALL our kids to help them all prepare for the big day! Amazing. That was much more than I could've asked for. Oh, and the nurse even brought in toys and an iPad for them to play with during our wait/visit! We arrived early to our appt and we STILL managed to get in and out of there within an hour. At Dr. Lujan's, we'd still be waiting...

He was efficient , informative, timely, and he gave me a shot in each hand that was quite impressive in that it didn't hurt and within days my pain was reduced 80%. I'm looking at surgery in the future because this won't be a permanent fix but he is patient and never makes me feel like my questions are redundant or time wasting. He sits there like he has all day. I have read the other reviews and felt compelled to give mind because my experience is a polar opposite from some of the others.

Dr Lujan is the best!

Was diagnosed with tendonitis based on the results of an MRI and blood work. He suggested I give my wrist time to heal and if it didn't heal he said I would need surgery. I did not heal and since I need full use of my wrist for cheer/tumble, I opted for sugery. Right before surgery he was asking information about if he had done blood work, he almost looked as though he wasn't sure if I needed surgery. I told him I had blood work and an MRI. Based on his questions I asume he had no record of the MRI results, diagnosis or recommendation for surgery. I was floored. These are things that should have been in the patient charts. After sugery he said I did not have a ganglion cyst. I was floored againg because he said that I did not have a ganglion cyst after the MRI. And the surgery was supposed to be for tendonitis. After sugery I was told to remind him at the post op that I need to see a Reumitoid Dr. Wasn't he going to document that in my charts? Am I supposed to be keeping my… own charts? After researching reumitoid arthritis, I have absolutely no symptoms. The injury came from repetitive backhand springs, not reumitoid arthritis. I do not recommend this Dr. Scary!!!!!

Wow, this "MD" came hightly recomended. I called, the secretary asked me very targeted questions about how I was injured, and "is there an attorney involved". I answered, "yes, I was struck by a drunk driver who has already plead guilty". She then stated, "it is per protocol that we do not take these cases. WOW! Very unfortunate, I'm Pres insured and can't even get in to see a "doc" that rents space from Pres at Pres Downotown.

Was referred to this dr by PCP for upper arm, shoulder pain. Took CD of MRI ordered by PCP and Dr. Lujan didn't even look at it or listen to my description of symptoms. Gave cortisone injection in shoulder and referred to PT which proved to be ineffective. PT recommended scheduling appt with Dr, which took 6 wks. Very low confidence level in this Dr's willingness or commitment to resolve my condition.

Mu overall experience is positive. I have arthritis in both shoulders and recently had an operation to remove a cyst on the right shoulder. Everything went well and I feel I got excellent care from all the staff involved. The doctor asnwered all my questions and explained the condition and treatment options. I felt fully informed and confident in his ability to do the right thing for me. I would recommend him to my friends and family.
