Dr. Bob Babak Shafa, MD

Worse doctor ever. He treated me incredibly bad. He basically called me a liar when I described my pain and acted like I only wanted pain pills. I have never felt so disrespected in my life.

Dr. Bob Shafa is the worst doctor I have ever seen, he talks to you in a very unprofessional manner ,does not listen to any of your concerns and he talks to you like he is the best doctor in the world.

I was barely walking and always with chronic pain in my back. Dr Shafa explained what was wrong and how he would right it. And he did! I left the hospital after only a one night stay pain free. Thank God for Dr. Bob Shafa

am blown away! I am in absolute shock. I just received a letter from Dr. Shafa who spoke with me about my spinal stenosis a few months ago. He reports that: I am married (untrue); my parents are alive (untrue); my family has a history of diabetes (untrue); that my father has skin cancer (untrue); my mother has diabetes (untrue); and that I am an occasional drinker (untrue). The report goes on to say I had a physical exam which is gone into in detail. There was NO physical exam. And I am supposed to trust my life to this man and undergo surgery with him? Dr. Bob Shafa of the Institute of Brain and Spine Surgery - get your act together.

Dr. Shafa was attentive & sensitive to my moms diagnosis and treatment. He answered all her questions, even before she asked them. We are thankful Dr. Shafa was highly referred by another doctor, and that he treated my mom with the best professional service. His personality and kindness reflects his passion of helping people.

Dr. Shafa gave me my life back -- operated 8 hours until 11:00 pm on Friday night. he is like a second father to me.

It's so unfortunate how awful people can be just because they probably could not agree with him. He is a very honest Doctor. He will tell you everything you need to know and expect with what is happening to you physically. He is beyond helpful with me and my family that was there in his office. It was scary but after talking to him, he made me feel so relieved and less stressed. He is my second opinion and thank God I listened to my friend and told me to not be discouraged with what few peoples opinion because he is a great surgeon! AND HE IS A WONDERFUL SURGEON! I can walk without a cane nor a walker now! and that's what's important to me. So thank you Dr. Shafa, i'm sorry for people that are here just saying nonsense about you! It really is upsetting to see some reviews that are not even true.

Dr. Shafa listened and thoroughly assessed. He is kind and compassionate. I'm am grateful for his expertise! ??

Couldn't pass the right to voice my opinion on this doctor. Early this year Dr. Shafa assisted my mother in her care at the hospital for a head injury. Never have I met such an arrogant Igotistic person - who has this air of entitlement when he addresses you. You are obviously in the wrong profession. After voicing my concerns and dismissing this doctor from my mother's care, I received numerous confirmation from nurses that felt the same way. Life is short and if you have the gift of helping others - then learn to be a humble soul, but from what I've been reading, you are not an exceptional physician. Hope patients are doing their homework and research.

This “neurosurgeon” believes that he is the absolute best of the best. While in reality he is a complete jerk who leaves his patients waiting for hours on end. When he tells you he’ll meet with you at a certain time, don’t count on it. I even saw that he was rude to his staff, even though they were the only good part about being there. I unequivocally suggest that you try to find a different doctor that will actually care about you, the patient, and less about his vainglorious ego.
