Dr. Brad David Simons, MD

Does Not Respond! Dr Brad Simons was contacted by me for double vision issues. His medical notes of my visit contained references to discussions he had regarding my medical problem and follow-up treatment with 'MY PARENTS'. MY PARENTS HAVE BEEN DEAD FOR OVER 25 YEARS. Obviously something is wrong and I have reached out to Dr Simons repeatedly to try to get these notes corrected. He has refused to even return my calls. Dr Simons was contacted on my behalf by my regular ophthalmologist and Dr Simons has not responded to him either. I consider his failure to respond a serious ethical issue regarding Dr Simons and his practice, Specialty Eye Associates.

Dr Simons is an extremely kind, funny, and intelligent doctor who SPECIALIZES in eye and vision care. He is not an optometrist solely checking a patient's vision. He is also checking for the overall health of their eye muscles and such, so that does require testing, which may make the appt last longer, and that message is relayed upon making the appt. If you have any issue, they will squeeze you in. It is also a very clean office. But I suppose you can't please everyone right?

Every time I have brought my son there the appt was set for the morning and we were never seen until after lunch. Dr Simons has told me if my son's eye doesn't get better or it gets worst he will have to have surgery. Each time he has gone back it had been worst and all Dr. Simons says is look great and on to the next patient. I think they schedule as many patients in as possible just to get paid by Medicaid. Now I have been looking for anybody else anywhere else. I will never take my son back there.

My son went there for a chalazion and we were told it had to be removed. After my son went through alot of testing and a pre-op appointment as well as a medical clearance appointment with his pediatrician we found out that the surgery center the doctor uses does not accept the insurance. Why would they put this child through all of that for nothing and now I have to find a different doctor. I am very upset.

Ran my bill up without informing me of what the charges would be. Told me I had glaucoma and optic nerve damage and dry eyes. I'm dilated as I'm typing this...from a second opinion...and I have none of the above. My iop is 17 and optic nerve damage does not just go away.

His bed side manner was great! Dr. Simons took the time to explain my condition and what I can do to help make it better.

We have had the displeasure of visiting this office 3 times now and each time was worse than the previous. It's laughable that the front desk scheduled my daughter at 1:00 because thry said it was right after lunch so there wouldn't be a wait. We waited over 2 hours! They had her come back to get test results...3 hour wait! They move you from one waiting room to the next waiting room and then yet another waiting room and then the actual treatment room where you wait at least another 30 minutes for the Dr. Absolutely absurd! After the appointment when my son told the front desk how long we had had to wait her only response was, you're lucky! So what does that tell you?! They actually gave my daughter another appointment for a follow up which I am canceling. Of course I can only leave a voice mail message because no one picks up the phone. Beware!

Visited this doctor multiple times before changing. Appointments and staff were less than satisfactory. Wait times were always more than 2 hours after apt time, waiting room not large enough for backlogged appts. Dr. gave different diagnosis three times in three months. More concerned with siblings 20/30 vision than patients multiple more serious issues.

Many complain here about wait time.... I was taken in after 15 minutes but you need to wait 30 minutes for dialation , then be seen then an analysis and it's about 3 hours but you are in a process not sitting idle for 3 hours. The staff was fantastic and the dr was kind. He treated my child and isn't jumping to do surgery for the money like most. He has a very good temperament with children as does his staff. The wait room has a children's area and enough chairs for patients. Don't bring your 4 aunts and 6 cousins for one person. Dr. Speakers perfect clear and concise English
