FOR ALL NEW PARENTS WHO NEED TO TAKE THEIR CHILD TOO SEE A NEOROLOGIST FOR SPEECH DELAY. I will start by saying that I had never been too a Neorologist office. This was our experience with my son’s first consultation appointment at Ms. Vasconcellos office. Once we went inside our child was weighted and measured. We sat down in a small office I was given a bubble in questionnaire of about 30 questions and another sheet of 20 more questions. So we sat down and The lady started asking questions as well. Thank goodness I went with my husband who was able to help with answering. Don’t know how I could have done that alone and with my 4 year old son in the office. So, BE AWARE on your CONSULT APPOINT BRING SOMEONE TO HELP. The lady never asked any questions directly to my son. It was basically us answering general but in detail questions about how your child Behaves and and interact as well as speech and ext....these are questions that you must think Thoroughly. Once we were all done… she took the Bubbled in questionnaires and apparently takes it to a machine where based on your Answers it tell you if your child would have Autism. The lady came back in and said good news your child does not show any signs Of autism. We said ok, and she said I know You have been waiting for a long time and your child is getting anxious so if you like you guys can leave already. And my husband and I looked at each other and said well aren’t we supposed to see the neurologist and she said well if you wait another five minutes you’ll be able to see her. So of course we waited!! ***DONT KNOW IF YOUR Supposed to see a neurologist IN YOUR consultation? *** SO, Once the neurologist came in the room she sat behind a desk was very dry and quick with her words. She asked my son what is your name and how old are you? That is it! Based out of that she’s said I recommend for you to do an EEG on him and for you to visit a psychologist and a speech therapist. And that was all. she explained what an EEG was..... For those who look at appearance ; she Did not look professionally dressed. So, We left with all of our paperwork and I made appointments to do the EEG which was done at their office. ***Following day EEG was done with a tech. My child was able to stay still for about 30 min with the 20 or 30 little cables to his head. *** I left home and I believe two days later I received a PHONE CALL Of my sons results. *** ***THE RESULTS WERE GIVEN TOO BE OVER A PHONE CALL AND IT WENT LIKE THIS “ YOUR SON EEG CAME BACK ABNORMAL, HE WILL NEED MORE TESTINGS DONE WITH ANOTHER 3 DAY EEG WHICH ITS CALLED AN AMBULATORY EEG, AND HE WILL NEED AN MRI AS WELL ........don’t leave your child unattended because he can have Convulsions or a seizure at any time!!!!!! what day is best for the EEG AND MRI ??????? I said wait a minute I am not understanding everything you just said......!!!!! I did Not believe that all of this information was given to me over a phone call. I was driving!!!!!! I had her repeat the information and I will call her back. Called my husband and after having a conversation with him we decided to call the office back and do the MRI AT THE HOSPITAL. MRI WAS DONE AND CAME BACK GOOD!!!!! News as well was given over a phone call. Conclusion: I Asked for the doctor to call me. Ms. vasconcellos called me And explained the MRI on speaker. Once she finished explaining I mentioned to her my experience in which she was unreceptive too. ***I asked her if I Wouldn’t have waited for you in that consult appointment I Wouldn’t have ever received the order for an EEG? She said, yes you would have received it on your way out with the other paper work. And I said who was going to Explain the EEG???? Not being Truthful I feel. She kept talking over me and interrupting as I was expressing. The way she Handled herself was extremely rude and unprofessional. She Transferred me immediately to manager and the manager said how can I help you I said You can’t, I will never go back to this office again !! ITS ALL A BUSINESS AND NO SENCE OF Empathy to a vulnerable situation.

My twin sons had seen Dr Vasconcellos for several years. She is very knowledgeable and compassionate. She takes time with every patient to make sure all their needs are addressed. Dr Vasconcellos does everything in her power to reduce stress on parents. I took her for granted until we moved out of town and had a very different experience. Her waiting rooms are always packed and I was a bit upset by long waiting time but now realize that it was because she is an excellent neurologist and is in great demand. Oh, how I wish we could see her instead of our new neurologist!

Awful staff, lack of customer service, always late.

She's a great doctor, very caring and competent. Well worth the wait that might occur in the waiting room.

Staff is nice and courteous but this office crams TOO MANY patients in the waiting room and you willbe lucky to see the doctor within 2 hours of your scheduled appointment regardless if you are there extra early. Aslo I will add that this is a pediatric neurologist and there is nothing to help the kids entertain themselves i.e. TV, books, or minor activities like board games.

I was happy she wasn't quick to diagnose and offered initial suggestions and natural supplements for my son.
