Dr. Faris Jamal Fakhoury, MD

In early 2024 I herniated my C5 which led to a pinched nerve and as a result I lost the use of my left arm.  I was immediately referred to Dr. Fakhoury for a surgical consultation.  It was determined that a discectomy was the best course of action due to the severity of the herniation and loss of use of my arm.  Despite my apprehension of invasive surgery, Dr. Fakhoury was very reassuring in explaining the risks/benefits of having the surgery vs. not having the surgery.  Within three days after having the surgery I was able to lift my arm again. Of course there was some PT involved to gain back my strength, but 10 months after the surgery I can honestly say my ability to move and lift with my arm again is back to 100 percent In the world of horror stories about surgeries thankfully this one is not.   Dr. Fahkoury is an excellent Neurosurgeon and I am grateful my referral and medical care went to him.

Excellent neurosurgeon period. Dr Fakhoury and his staff are exceptional. I had the best experience and this was my first surgery. I was nervous, anxious and scared to have surgery on my spine, but the staff and Dr Fakhoury, put me at ease. He listens to your concerns and makes sure to address them. The surgery went exactly like he said and recovery was smooth, no issues. I couldn't thank him more and I would recommend him in a heartbeat. Just a wonderful experience overall. 10 stars

I had a herniated L5-S1 disc that was pressing on the nerve. It caused severe pain in my right leg. It started with pain behind my knee, then spread down to my calf and foot, and also up to my hamstring and buttock. Sitting was excruciating. Getting in and out of my car was excruciating. I had to use a cane to walk after sitting. My right foot went completely numb; I stopped driving. I went through months in pain; doctors telling me I had to try pain management, medication, and physical therapy. My Mom told me about Dr. Faris Fakhoury. Amber, Angela, and Dr. Fakhoury are some of the finest people you will ever meet. They LISTENED! Dr. Fakhoury was ready to schedule my surgery within a week. Dr. Fakhoury explained that the nerve was damaged and inflamed. He said I can expect to still feel pain until the nerve is fully healed. I woke up from surgery with full feeling in my foot and about 90% reduction of pain in my leg. 6 weeks post-op I only feel discomfort when I do too much. I am… baffled how he was able to do the surgery through such a small incision. There was no bruising, swelling, or irritation around my incision at all. I didn’t even feel achy or sick afterwards. The man is a miracle worker!

I highly recommend Dr. Fakhoury who I went to see when I was experiencing the worst pain of my life, numbness and progressively worsening weakness in my left leg down to my foot. It turns out I had a stenosis and a badly bulging disc which was pressing on my sciatic nerve. I quickly went from riding horses and working out regularly, to unbearable pain and barely able to walk within weeks. I went to see Dr Fakhoury, who presented options and an emergency plan if my conditions worsened. While I was scared to have a surgery at the time, I am so glad I did. Everyone was extremely careful and I was so impressed how everyone from Dr. Fakhoury, his entire team and Wellington Regional handled everything. I am now 1 month since my laminectomy surgery and am pain-free. It was amazing how immediate the pain relief. I could walk right away. All my nerve pain literally was gone on day 1 after my surgery. And now, 4 weeks later, my numbness has gone away and strength is returning. Having surgery… with Dr Fakhoury was the best thing I ever could have done. Also, everyone in his office was so helpful and responsive.They treat patients with such care and kindness. I never had a surgery like this before and they made me feel comfortable asking any questions and calling before/after my surgery. I am very grateful.

I recently was introduced to Dr. Fakhoury and his staff and have since had successful surgery on a hyrniated disc in my lower back. If you are looking for options for back pain, I cannot recommend Dr. Fakhoury and his staff highly enough. Communication was extraordinary from my first call to calls after the procedure. And Dr. Fakhoury will spend as much time as you need clearly explaining options, risks, etc. And the procedure itself was flawless. I could not be more elated. In this era of hurry-up, poor communication in much of the medical field, I can promise you a first-class, caring experience from this team!!

I had spinal fusion surgery in 2007 but unfortunately for the past 6 years the pain in my lower back and legs had steadily increased to the point where I no longer had any quality of life.  Depressed and hopeless I decided to make appointments with several doctors and was fortunate to meet with Dr. Fakhoury. From my first office visit, I found both him and his office staff to be professional, informative and reassuring. Dr. Fakhoury assured me that he could help me with spine revision surgery after he reviewed my MRI and X-ray. Feeling hopeful and reassured I elected for surgery.   Dr. Fakhoury and Arielle, his assistant, removed my existing screws that had become loose and was the cause of some spinal shifting and replaced them with new screws that helped straighten my spine. I am presently 10 weeks post-op and feeling so much better . My spine is no longer distorted and the pain is gone. Dr. Fakhoury is a gifted surgeon who gave me back my quality of life. Thank you Dr. Fakhoury… you are truly my hero
