There’s know communication about medication. He cut me off after 10 years of prescribing it. I called twice to ask about weaning off. I never got a call back, so I faxed his nurse practitioner who I normally see. Still know answer. I’ve never heard of a doctor not telling you how to wean off a medicine that can cause serious side effects. He’s not the doctor I thought he was.

His comments about my answers to questions on the questionnaire regarding how my children were related were insensitive/odd. His reaction to my sons being homeschooled did not seem appropriate. When my oldest son stated he was homeschooled, the doctor said, "Why did they do that?" with a disapproving tone. The doctor also rarely gave any eye contact & was typing the whole time. He only asked my oldest son one question & did not even speak to my youngest son at all, except to tell him to put down a toy in the office that my son picked up to hold. This was both of my boys's initial visits. He spent 30 minutes, at the most, total with us, when we were told that the initial visits were 30 mins. per child. He did not share any of his medical opinions about the prescriptions my sons were currently taking that were prescribed by their previous doctor. He had no suggestions or comments when I discussed the issues we experience with my oldest son in the morning before his medicine… begins to work. I was not impressed with this doctor at all. Our previous psychiatrists interacted more with my sons & I and discussed medications & suggestions each visit. We may try one more visit to see if we want to continue with this doctor, but if the next visit is similar we will definitely be switching.
