Dr. Margaret Ann Terhar, MD

Male: Breast Cancer Fun Fact -- My PCP has referred me to only 2 QUALITY medical specialists in the past 20 years. Dr. Margaret Terhar is one of them. Dr. Terhar simply did a perfectly masterful SIMPLE MASTECTOMY FOR MY BREAST CANCER back in March 2020. Then in post-op appointments, she went on to explain her diagnosis clearly enough for me to understand. My left breast was Stage 1A, but my right breast was Stage 2A due to 3 positive lymph nodes including one with extracapsular extension. One would think Dr. Terhar was at her best answering my questions or performing surgery that's kept me breast cancer-free now for over 5 years. Of course, but here's what I'll NEVER forget about Dr. Terhar. She knew I had ridden my bicycle to an appointment even though I was heavily bandaged up. After the appointment, I was surprised to see a cab driver parked out front ready to take me home. Dr. Terhar had given him $20 beforehand. Thank you!

Saw her years ago. This woman came up in conversation today so I have to post this. I am crying as I write this because this experience was so cruel and I worry about others. I need to copy and paste this story everywhere I can to warn people. There were so many red flags like she never answered my questions, I always left her office even more confused, she was making me uncomfortable, disregarded me as a human being, always had an attitude with me and more but let me tell you the red flags that were the brightest and the most disturbing. I had DCIS, it was small and were not in my lymph nodes. Her and Dr. Fadi Braiteh tried to push me to do chemo which is harsh and could kill you. Chemo is necessary for some cancer patients, don't get me wrong.... But do your own research and look up "chemo for DCIS".... Dr. Fadi Braiteh could not even look me in the eye when he was trying to sell the chemo to me. He didn't answer any questions either so I left more confused. Terhar asked me if I… wanted to remove the lump or get the double mastectomy.  After reviewing the pros and cons of both and even after she told me herself that neither procedure promised no chance of cancer coming back- basically one was not better than the other as far as outcome. So I opted just to get the tumor removed. She seemed disappointed and mentioned that she can't promise me that my breast implant won't be ruptured. She kept urging me to remove both breasts. I said no multiple times. I went to my plastic surgeon thinking I may possibly need to go to him after all this is over. My plastic surgeon was shocked and told me she would have to be doing something VERY wrong in order for my implant to be ruptured- he pointed out my implant is under the muscle, the tumor is obviously over it. I went home very disturbed and crying because obviously I can't trust these people. It's scary thinking these people can sedate you, cut you open and do whatever they want to you. I was so disturbed at the fact that people can get a life threatening disease and these corrupt doctors can exploit their fear of dying and do whatever they want to them.   I never called her back because I was looking for other doctors- I wanted a second, third and fourth opinion. Because there was no way I was going to be unconscious and cut open until I had full trust. While doing so, I get a phone call from a reconstructive plastic surgeon office telling me they got my referral and checking to see what day and time is good for me. After I SAID NO to this procedure multiple times. I was done with her. 6 years later, my entire lifestyle has changed- mind, body and soul, my cancer changed my life for the better..... But I am still hurting from this experience. It hurts my soul so much thinking about all of the lives loss or destroyed due to the medical corruption, it is beyond scary. Note- I was on medicaid at that time. Which means free money. It explains why she was willing to hurt or leave me for dead. Please, I urge you- get more than one opinion. Do not let your fear of the cancer make you make possibly fatal decisions. I will continue sharing this.

Dr. Margaret Terhar is a great doctor/surgeon! She’s very understanding and listens to your concerns. She takes time with the patient to help them with their health issues! I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a breast surgeon. Her staff is amazing, always willing to help!!

If having breast cancer could have any upside, then I certainly found it with Dr. Margaret Terhar and her staff. My first contact with the office was with a kind, caring receptionist (Laurie) who worked hard to schedule my appointment ASAP. My experience was all very positive from there. During my initial consultation with Dr. Terhar, she showed sincere compassion and kindness. With her incisive explanation of my health situation and her recommendation for a treatment plan, I felt I was at the right place. Maribel, her coordinator, did a great job every step of the way, from giving meticulous pre/post-operative instructions, to coordinating information from my primary care giver and keeping an open line of contact. Thanks to Dr. Terhar’s extraordinary expertise, my surgery went well, with no complications afterwards. There are not enough ways to express all my thanks to Dr. Terhar and her terrific staff. How fortunate that I found such a great breast surgeon that I can trust!

Even when I was thrown some roadblocks (the surgical center cancelled all procedures the morning of my surgery), Dr. Terhar forged ahead and was able to reschedule my surgery just 2 days later. Thanks to Dr. Terhar’s extraordinary expertise, my surgery went well,… with no complications afterwards. Her recommendation for a referral to Dr. Raul Meoz for the next phase of my treatment (APBI) was a great call. There are not enough ways to express all my thanks to Dr. Terhar and her terrific staff. How fortunate that I found such a great breast surgeon that I can trust!

Dr Terhar was just what I needed. To the point but yet compassionate. Left feeling very hopeful after what I thought was a bad situation. Will know more after surgery but I have full confidence in Dr Terhar

Dr Terhar was just wonderful with an excellent bedside manner. She was extremely patient and took time to answer all my questions and addressed my concerns. Her staff were always friendly and professional.

Dr. Terhar is a really good doctor. I had a surgery with her few weeks ago and she is very caring. The office was welcoming and the staff are very nice and helpful. You can always make an appointment. My first appointment took around a month wait since i was a new patient but after that appointments are more flexible specially if a person had a surgery recently and had concerns.

I had breast cancer in 2008 and Dr. Terhar was my surgeon. She is an amazing doctor. She answered all my questions and treated me like a friend. She is very concerned about her patients and I have been following up with her ever since. She is what you need under these circumstance.

Had a breast lump biopsy. Dr Terhar was kind, patient and told me what I needed to know. Thankfully, by the Grace of God, it was benign.
