Dr. Mateen K AliNiazee, MD

I have seen two different doctors at the Elmhurst location. The first one (Dr. Shaw) told me he could fix my problem in about 5 minutes. He didn't fix it. I'm convinced he didn't do anything at all because the problem never changed or got better in any way. The second doctor (Dr. Mateen) did nothing but make excuses and strongly implied it was my fault that the problem didn't improve. When I demanded to speak to someone about this, the office manager repeatedly tried to gaslight me by saying that the problem is actually very hard to fix and often recurs. She did this even though I kept assuring her that the problem hadn't recurred, it had just never gotten better. Do not go to this office unless you like being lied to and having your time wasted. The doctors here to not know how to do their jobs.

Doc didn't say hello as he entered the room, did not go through the notes that I provided to his nurse, did not explain his observations properly. I had to keep asking questions to make sure I understand what he said. He prescribed medications and procedures, but didn't explain about any of these. He may be very experienced, but I think he needs to address patient's concerns, explain and make patients comfortable.

I had to drive all around the suburbs for appointments and the surgery. Then even though I had a contract for $6000.00 they found ways to charge my insurance and I, was paying deductibles. They knew all the loop holes and used them at every opportunity. After the process my eye sight was not nearly as good as they claimed it would be. Call backs were very slow.

I had to travel all around the Chicago suburbs for exams and the surgery. This was very inconvenient. The worst part of this experience though was the cost. Even though I had a contract for one price they loop hold me into pay pay pay. Once I started the process, I was committed to follow through and they drained my wallet and insurance on every step of the way. On top of it my eye sight has not improved the way they claimed it would.

I can’t say enough about dr maternal. He is very focused on doing the very best. I am very satisfied with my eye surgeries.

I had eye surgery to remove a pterygium. Dr. Aliniazee was not only very nice, but thorough. His staff was always very friendly and courtious. The facility was awesome and ALMOST felt like a spa with warming blankets and reclining chairs to help me relax. I recommended him to family and he became my grandma's favorite eye Dr when he completed surgery for her glaucoma. I would recommend him again.
