Matthew Hecht, MD

I was seen by Matthew Hecht twice regarding my need for cataract surgery. There is something not right in that office. The office personnel are not personable at all. It seems like they are all being watched carefully during all interactions. There are no doors on any of the rooms and there are always two people in the room during any of the testing and consulting with the doctor. They just stood there ackwardly. It is very creepy. In addition, I was unable to talk to them about my insurance coverage. Anything I asked was answered by the aggressive office manager, Nina. It was obvious that she did not like patients researching and asking questions about insurance coverage and procedures. My cataract surgery (that was covered by insurance) was upgraded to other lenses (that are not covered by insurance). I told them I just wanted what my insurance covered. Bottom line is I did not feel good about any of this after my second visit. I decided to get a second opinion and declined signing… the papers to proceed with my appointment for surgery. After going to another office/doctor, I am so relieved that I decided to get a second opinion. Please use my information and don’t waste your time and money if you are in need of a doctor for your eyes. Sincerely.

GREAT DOCTOR!!!

I was recently in need of a same day appoinment for an eye emergency. I called various doctors and could not get an appointment sooner then a week later. When I came across Dr. Hecht's office they offered an appointment that same day. I was very happy with Dr. Hecht's care. He was very thourough and reassuring!

I have been going to Dr. Hecht for all my eye care needs and have always had excellent service. The staff is always professional and courteous. Dr. Hecht is very knowledgeable and thorough on my visits.
