Dr. Michael Paul Blair, MD

My optometrist recommended Dr. Blair when I had issues with my vision. I have type 2 diabetes and had lost all vision in one of my eyes. I wasn't looking forward to having an injection in my eye but definitely wanted to know what was happening to my vision. Dr. Blair explained everything in detail and was confident that the injections would help restore my vision. The office staff is very kind and respectful and the injections are painless. My vision is improving and I feel that Dr. Blair's expertise is the reason for that improvement. I highly recommend him to anyone with vision issues! He is very professional, thorough, and caring.

Does not say much during office visit when asked questions. Does not provide any information on what the risks are to having a vitrectomy. I would not see this doctor.

My son has a very rare eye disease called bilateral juvenile retinoschisis. Not a lot is known about this disease and Dr Blair has explained to us in depth about what to expect from this. He is the most caring doctor I have ever met and really cares. He has fought right along with us for my husband's insurance to cover our sons treatment and he is still helping us fight it. I would never chose a different a doctor for my son.

This clinic is incredibly inefficient. There are always people waiting and staff just hangs around and walks around. They ask you the same questions over and over again, and they are basically the same questions they asked on the paper questionnaire. The average wait time is two hours so be prepared to wait and wait and wait. No one gives you an idea of status or if they are running late or not. Not acceptable at all.

He may have high ratings with hospitals but his social skills are not appropriate. He was rude to my son when trying to make an appointment. That is as far as he got. He chose not to go there. He was referred by a Dr. from the acute care center from gurnee. He wasnt a very caring doctor. my son does have insurance.

I had a retina detachment one afternoon and my primary physician referred me immediately to Dr. Blair. Dr. Blair stayed late at the office to examine me and confirm the diagnosis and then scheduled surgery to correct the problem at Condell Hospital within the hour. He performed the procedure and was there when I came out of anesthesia to let me know all went well. He honestly cares about his patients and will work like a pit bull to get the best outcome possible. His staff at the Libertyville office is awesome. I would not want anyone to work on the eyes of either myself or my family other than Dr. Blair. I trust him and his skill.
