Dr. Nathan Daniel Allison, MD

Dr. Nathan Allison is a top notch doctor. He is kind, attentive, detail-oriented and trustworthy. He removed my gallbladder last week. The first few days were rough but he listed to me when I told him I didn't want any narcotics and ordered something instead. I have three incisions (one that is through my naval that you can't see). I can tell they will heal nicely as he used glue instead of sutures. Everyone at Viera Hospital was great. Joe, his PA, is also great and explained everything prior to surgery. I'll be back if I ever need another abdominal surgery.

I will tell you one thing. Dr. Allison not only saved my life but also gave me the best quality life I ever expected. He did two procedures, one to heal my hernia and the second did the Stretta to fix the valve in my stomach that would not close. It has been five years since then and I NEVER EVER had another issue. Bless you Dr. Allison, may the Lord keep you and your family safe and sound. THANK YOU.

I was in so much pain and burning from my stomach to my esophagus, throat, cheeks, tongue, all the way to my eyes from the acid. That was five years ago. I wanted to die, could not stand the burning until the Lord guided me to Dr. Allison. He did an endoscopy and told me that I had to do two procedures, repair my hernia and then do the stretta to repair the muscle that was relaxed, never closed after eating so the acid kept flowing 24 hours a day. I had both procedures done one month apart from each other, followed his guidance to the T, put me on a strict diet and medication for about a month and then I was born again! No more burning, no more medications a little careful on my diet but now I am so well that I have to say I owe my life to Dr. Allison. He gave me so much strength and the will to live that I always pray for him. His assistant, Jenae, is also a blessing in the sky. Very caring, always with a smile and ready to serve. I have no words to express for my gratitude… that they gave me my life back.

PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS review and avoid this practice at all costs. I am suffering from gallbladder stones and had surgery scheduled for 7/20/23. The weeks prior to the surgery I was back and forth with his office verifying insurance (which I have and covers this surgery). They kept saying they are getting stuck on hold so I would call myself and confirm the number and call them back with the number and name of person to speak with. They finally stopped calling me so assumed they had this resolved. The day before the surgery I am told they are switching me to self-pay since they didn't verify the insurance and that I had to show up in the am with $16000. I called the number again for insurance and provided it to this person. She later called my back saying they verified it but I had 70% coverage and would have to pay 30% (also not true and confirmed by my insurance last night). The negotiated insurance rate for the surgery was $53,000 and I would be on the hook for about… $16,000. Ironic huh? The same amount of self pay. I called back again and my insurance said they did not say this- they said they cover the 70% and 30% needs to be submitted for cash benefits for services rendered. All pretty standard stuff.When I called the office back (around 4:30 they had left for the day) so I called to see if I was still on the schedule. When I arrived they told me I needed to pay the $16,000. I told them the story and an admin walked over and said the surgery was already cancelled and the physician is aware. I am looking into what could be done but this is the opposite of patient care and you should avoid this practice at all costs.

Dr Allison helped me when I was having trouble swallowing and eating. I had lost about 60 lbs. My first conversation with him was over the phone. He listened, asked questions and assured me that he could help. His manner was warm, friendly and professional. My surgery went well, I was extremely pleased with the doctor, the staff and the results. I have recommended him also to someone that he helped and did not have to do surgery on.

Doctor Allison has been the best provider I have seen. I had an experimental procedure done and it was flawless. I had no unanswered questions beforehand, I knew what to expect. I assumed it would be far worse afterwards than it was. He is very thorough. I have referred people to him that have same condition. I hope I never have to see him again as a patient but that’s no reflection on him. He fixed what needed fixed. He worked with insurance company to assure it was covered.

Had Linx and Hiatal Hernia Surgery in Sep 2018. Had my 90-day post-op appt yesterday. Dr. Allison did a fantastic job. I didn’t nor currently have any issues and I’m off meds...no more reflux, no more sleepless nights. Dr. Nathan Allison and his staff did an outstanding job!

Had very poor follow-up care after surgery and ended up going to Mayo Clinic for correction.

Dr. Allison performed the surgery that has changed my life for the better! He is professional, caring and has an excellent bedside manner. He is up front and honest and will not allow the surgery if it is not the best option. Highly recommend to anyone thinking of having bariatric surgery or hernia repair.
