I too had my run in with Dr. Mixa and strongly encourage all to submit their own complaints and reviews to the Western Florida Better Business Bureau as I have. My visit to Dr. Mixa was for excruciating / debilitating knee pain caused by what's known as a Baker's cyst which Dr. Mixa diagnosed it's cause to be a torn meniscus and explained the permanent remedy to be surgery which was promptly scheduled that same day by his office staff. I subsequently learned the proper protocol for Dr. Mixa"s diagnoses was NOT followed and would have required an MRI which Dr. Mixa DID NOT prescribe. I then sought a second and third Orthopedist's opinion whom prescribed, read and provided a written analysis of an MRI which concluded NO torn meniscus and absolutely NO reason for my very expensive scheduled surgery. I shared the MRI disk with Dr. Mixa and requested he submit his own written analysis prior to surgery and he REFUSED. My knee and wallet are just fine and i would stay away from this doctor

Terrific Dr., Always see him when I go in , he's the best of the best. As for his staff, and billing, they are horrific. Calls are not returned, they talk down to you, or at least they try to, and really don't understand insurance. I've been chasing a refund from overpayment to the office since last November, was told the check was to be issued in a few weeks, 4 months later... still waiting and won't return calls...... He needs better staff that represent him better.

Choose Mixa only if you want to be handicapped, deformed and in pain for life. A butcher, an arrogant butcher! Beware!

I am handicapped for life because of this man's incompetence. It took years for the deformity to develop on my foot so I can't take the scoundrel to court. He's an incompetent buffoon.

Arrogant and incompetent, he should be barred. He misdiagnosed me but it took a long time for the problem to develop so I can't sue the piece of garbage. He wanted to charge me $750 for five minutes of his time (he spent three minutes with me the first time and got paid) and now I am maimed for life. A real piece of garbage, he has several lawsuits because of his incompetence,

This morning I called to cancel my appointment because I woke up sick. I selected the appointment Department to cancel and wanted to reschedule and the lady never gave me the chance to make a new appointment she hung up abruptly. If this is how patients are treated??, I'll find another specialist.

This Doctor BUTCHERED my shoulder. Nerve Atrophy and waisting away. Pain every day all day. 3 Rehabs.. Sboulder is Not coming back.... Beware...

Worst doctors visit I’ve ever had. Read the one star reviews in advance and avoid him as the literal kiss of death. 2 1/2 hour wait He doesn’t deserve even one star. He should be investigated and his medical license revoked. I have never ever seen anything like this.

Mixa is a real piece of garbage please stay away from him. He misdiagnosed my broken foot - understandable as he never even looked at it - and only years later did it start to deform, a bump growing on top, the toes turning in, and constant pain. I tried to reach him. Because he spent less than three minutes with me, I thought he owed me at least five minutes to see how to alleviate the pain. His office manager said I had arthritis (seriously? The x-rays were wrong?) that he felt he did not get paid enough for my first visit, and if I wanted my five minutes it would cost me $750. It is most likely too late to sue his behind, but I checked and he has several malpractice suits that he settled under his belt. PLEASE find another doctor.
