Several years ago, Grace Wong, my optometrist, identified concerns with irregular visual field testing, prompting her to recommend consultation with a specialist. This guidance led me to Dr. Vikas Chopra, affiliated with the distinguished UCLA Doheny Eye Center in Arcadia and Pasadena. With meticulous attention to a diverse array of test results, Dr. Chopra discerned a diagnosis of low tension open-angle glaucoma. A comprehensive treatment plan was expertly devised, effectively alleviating pressure in both eyes. This plan endured through the challenges posed by the pandemic. Approximately 8 months ago, a significant shift in my vision acuity became evident, necessitating two changes in eyeglass prescriptions. This change coincided with the accelerated growth of cataracts, which had been previously diagnosed. Fortuitously, I was under the care of Dr. Chopra, who recognized the necessity for precise measurements of… my eyes. It was revealed that my eyes possessed an extraordinary length, demanding a tailored approach and specialized lenses for addressing the rapidly advancing cataracts. With consummate skill, Dr. Chopra orchestrated the surgical process, restoring my distant vision to a remarkable 20/20. The decision to trust the distinct measurements rather than adhering to conventional ratios was pivotal in achieving this exceptional outcome. Only in hindsight did I realize the exceptional nature of my case and the singular expertise required. The efficiency, compassion, and responsiveness of Dr. Chopra's office staff are truly commendable. Despite the "mask era," their personal touch endures, with many of them recognizing me by name on sight. Furthermore, when the time for surgery arrived, the Arcadia Out Patient surgery center exhibited both competence and warmth. Dr. Chopra embraced my case with enthusiasm, welcoming the challenge it posed. His exuberance extends to his interactions with the staff, reflecting his deep passion for each patient's journey. When inquired about his approach, he offered a profoundly personal insight, sharing, "This field aligns perfectly with me; I relish the intricacies and the pursuit of precision. It's as if I was destined for this role." Little did I anticipate requiring such specialized expertise, leading me to believe that the divine hand guided me to Dr. Chopra and his exceptional team well before the need arose. If this reviews seems a little too “slick” it is because I took special care to run it through a number of computer services as I wanted it to reflect a care for the words, meaning and flow out of respect for Dr. Chopra. My gratitude for the entire team!

I have been under Dr.Chopra's care for almost three years. He is very thorough while making the treatment plan, prioritizing health, and considering personal needs. Dr.Chopra is also knowledgeable and patient, always listens to my concerns and answers my questions with great detailed explanations. He performed surgeries for my eye conditions, cared for me during and after the procedures. I would highly recommend Dr.Chopra as I believe he is an exceptional doctor and trustworthy advisor.

Worst physician I have ever encountered in my life. Big ego, entitled, pompous attitude - don't you dare even mention or refer to the ludicrous wait times, or he will set off on an entire tirade. He should not be practicing medicine and certainly should not be interacting with vulnerable patients any longer.

Took my mom for an appt after she was referred by another eye doctor. The pressure in her eye didn't seem to be responding to previous treatments and she was at risk for losing what little eyesight she had left in her right eye. Dr. Chopra and his entire staff was wonderful. Mom is 86yo and has mobility issues. They didn't make her wait, and were very accommodating and helpful. He took his time examining her and answered all our questions thoroughly. He has a great personality that inspires confidence. Given her prognosis he didn't want to wait and scheduled her surgery for a week later. She has surgery yesterday and is doing well. We higy recommend him and his staff. We were fortunate to have been referred to him.

Dr. Chopra is an expert on glaucoma and brought my eye pressure down to 6, an achievement I didn't think was possible. He also removed the cataracts in my eyes and focused the news lenses at computer screen and book reading distance, and my near vision has literally astonished the techs who measure it. I had read the bottom line on the test and asked how good that was, and she said, "It's super-dooper-dooper!" Dr. Chopra is also warm and friendly, and explains complex concepts clearly. An outstanding doctor.

Dr. Chopra saved my vision when no other doctor had the experience to attempt the surgery due to the complications that I had. I was going to lose my vision if surgery wasn't done. I will be forever grateful.

My mom was recently diagnosed with a very complicated case of primary angle closure glaucoma. Over the course of a few weeks we saw several very capable ophthamologists who prescribed a variety of treatments and procedures that did little to relieve the pressure in her eye. When we were eventually referred to Dr. Chopra, his experience in dealing with glaucoma cases was immediately evident. He was very thorough in his testing and was able to very quickly create a plan tailored for my mom's unique circumstances. After a very difficult surgery that was ultimately very successful, my mom was thrilled to have saved her eyesight, a prospect that weeks prior seemed dim. Our gratitude to Dr. Chopra and his team cannot be understated for not only successfully treating my mom's very complicated case, but also doing so with such professionalism from start to finish. Our only regret is not having found him sooner. We highly recommend Dr. Chopra.

I recently had Cataract surgery on both Eyes. The Surgery was performed by Dr. Chopra. The results can only be described as "Amazing". Dr. Chopra is not only an extremely qualified and knowledgeable Doctor, he is very personable and caring. Dr. Chopra is simply the best. He is knowledgeable and truly cares about his patients. I trust him completely. He performed a trabeculectomy on each of my eyes, and my pressure is now in the single digits with no drops. I highly recommend Dr. Chopra.

Dr. Chopra sees the whole patient and uses an amazing repertoire of technology to give patients an amazing result in the face of vision-threatening conditions.
