Dr. Duncan B Carpenter, MD

I am on my way to The Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota to hopefully correct a major inept lower back surgery by Drs. Carpenter, Klempner and Ganapola. At six weeks the cage was half way out and at 10 weeks it was free-floating. I was told that I needed to wait a year to see if the bone graft would fuse. After more than a year with worsening pain in my legs I told Dr. Carpenter that I was going elsewhere at which time I was told the cage was fused to my aorta and keg veins, “Don’t try to take it out.” This explained my chronically swollen legs due to vessel narrowing (never discussed pre-surgery.) I since found out that the fusion would not happen without stabilization. Having since obtained records they imply discussions that NEVER took place and information never given. Suggestion: take a witness to all appointments, take notes during the appointment, get a copy of office notes before surgery, or avoid. Handled my back surgery promptly and with great results. unprecedented care and follow up and allowed near real time communications via texts and phone calls post op and during the COVID crisis.. has my highest recommendation.. Thank you Dr. Carpenter ????

i owe my life NOT LESS to this godsend human being and extraordinary doctor. he operated on my spine 6 years ago and gave me my life back. i feel great 6 years later.

...and he is affiliated with the best hospital in North NJ, possibly better than many NYC hospitals. He always has an excellent team to work on tricky projects like mine was. And when the bill came in after insurance paid its piddling amount, I had to beg poverty after a few payments to him and he was incredibly kind to relieve me of the extra debt. While the operation was successful physically, it did not solve the pain issue. He referred me to his team member Dr. Sanjiv Parikh, anesthiologist, who is also great for dealing with chronic pain. Thank you both for allowing me to work a little longer.

This doctor is intelligent, caring, very competent, and an excellent listener. I felt that he was focused on my problem and went out of his way to solve my medical issues. I highly recommend him.

this doctor have saved my life. i was in excruciating pain from my back down my leg and he cured me with a surgery. he is gracious and kind and just amazing. he gave me my life back. god bless him.
